Abstract

An open-frame power supply includes a main circuit board and multiple circuit modules. The main circuit board includes first and second opposite sides, and the circuit modules are spaced apart on the main circuit board to form multiple gap channels from the first to the second opposite sides. These gap channels include multiple first gap channels and multiple second gap channels. The first gap channels are formed by multiple first circuit modules adjacent to the first opposite sides, spaced apart on the main circuit board. The second gap channels are formed by multiple second circuit modules adjacent to the second opposite sides, spaced apart on the main circuit board, and the number of second gap channels is greater than the number of first gap channels.

Claims

1. An open-rack power supply, comprising: A main circuit board, comprising a first pair of opposite sides and a second pair of opposite sides; Multiple circuit modules are spaced apart on the main circuit board to form multiple gap channels from the first pair of sides to the second pair of sides, and these gap channels include multiple first gap channels and multiple second gap channels; wherein the first gap channels are formed by multiple first circuit modules adjacent to the first pair of sides being spaced apart on the main circuit board, and the second gap channels are formed by multiple second circuit modules adjacent to the second pair of sides being spaced apart on the main circuit board, and the number of second gap channels is greater than the number of first gap channels.

2. The open-frame power supply as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first gap channels are separated by the second circuit modules to form a larger number of second gap channels.

3. The open-frame power supply as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first circuit modules are configured to be arranged on the main circuit board in a generally parallel manner along a direction from the first opposite side to the second opposite side to form a first gap channel that is generally parallel to each other.

4. The open-frame power supply as described in claim 3, wherein the width of a first gap in the first gap channels varies substantially monotonically along the direction.

5. The open-frame power supply as claimed in claim 4, wherein the second circuit modules are configured to be arranged on the main circuit board in a generally parallel manner along a direction from the first pair of sides to the second pair of sides to form second gap channels that are generally parallel to each other.

6. The open-frame power supply as claimed in claim 5, wherein the width of a second gap in the second gap channels varies substantially monotonically along the direction, and the width of the second gap is smaller than the width of the first gap.

7. The open-frame power supply as claimed in claim 1, wherein one of the first circuit modules is configured to receive an input power supply, and one of the second circuit modules is configured to provide an output power supply.

8. The open-frame power supply as claimed in claim 1, wherein one of the circuit modules includes a power element and the power element includes a heat dissipation surface, at least a portion of the heat dissipation surface of the power element being exposed in one of the gap channels.

9. The open-rack power supply as described in claim 8, wherein the power element comprises: A heat sink includes a first surface and a second surface, wherein the first surface is disposed on a heat-generating surface of the power element; wherein the second surface serves as the heat-dissipating surface and is a plate-shaped structure.

10. The open-frame power supply as described in claim 8, wherein the circuit modules further include: A circuit board for insertion into the main circuit board to serve as a partition wall for a portion of the gap flow channel.
