Abstract

A fertilization tray for in vitro fertilization includes a body and a microporous membrane. The body includes a bottom wall, a peripheral wall extending upward from the outer periphery of the bottom wall, and an annular inner wall. The inner wall and the bottom wall together define a fertilization groove for holding an egg. The microporous membrane is closedly connected to the peripheral wall and the inner wall, and together with the peripheral wall, the inner wall, and the bottom wall, defines a screening zone through which normally motile sperm can pass. Sperm screening and fertilization can both be performed on this novel fertilization tray, reducing the number of steps involved in in vitro fertilization and the risk of sample contamination.

Claims

1. A fertilization disc for in vitro fertilization, comprising: a body including: A bottom wall, an outer perimeter wall extending upward from the outer edge of the bottom wall, the outer perimeter wall and the bottom wall together defining a chamber for containing culture medium, and an annular inner perimeter wall formed on the bottom wall at intervals from the outer perimeter wall and extending upward from the bottom wall and below the upper edge of the outer perimeter wall, the inner perimeter wall and the bottom wall together defining a fertilization tank for holding an egg. And a microporous membrane that connects the outer wall and the inner wall in a closed manner, the microporous membrane, together with the outer wall, the inner wall and the bottom wall, defines a screening zone in the chamber, the microporous membrane allows normal sperm with good motility in the screening zone to pass through and enter the fertilization tank via the culture medium.

2. The fertilization disc as claimed in claim 1 further includes a perforation formed on the outer wall of the body and communicating with the screening area, and a sample injection channel disposed outside the outer wall and communicating with the screening area through the perforation for sperm injection.

3. The fertilization disc as described in claim 2, wherein, The injection channel has an inlet at the end opposite to the perforation.

4. The fertilization disc as described in claim 3, wherein, The injection port is funnel-shaped, wider at the top and narrower at the bottom.

5. The fertilization disc as described in claim 1, wherein, The fertilization groove extends smoothly from top to bottom in a gradual tapering pattern.

6. The fertilization disc as described in claim 1, wherein, The center of the fertilization groove is aligned with the center of the bottom wall.

7. The fertilization disc as described in claim 1, wherein, The microporous membrane is set horizontally.

8. The fertilization disc as claimed in claim 1, further comprising a top cover removably disposed on the body.
