Abstract

This disclosure provides a protective structure and system. The protective structure includes an impact-resistant layer, a puncture-resistant layer, and an abrasion-resistant layer. The impact-resistant layer has a thickness of 5 mm to 30 mm and an impact energy absorption ratio of not less than 0.6. The puncture-resistant layer is on top of the impact-resistant layer, with a thickness of 0.2 mm to 1.5 mm and an average puncture force of not less than 5 kgf. The abrasion-resistant layer is on top of the puncture-resistant layer, with a thickness of 0.01 mm to 0.3 mm and an abrasion resistance greater than 5000 cycles. This protective system includes an object to be protected and the aforementioned protective structure disposed on the outer surface of the object.

Claims

1. A protective structure, comprising: A shock-absorbing layer having a thickness of 5 mm to 30 mm and an impact resistance energy absorption ratio of not less than 0.6; a puncture-resistant layer having a thickness of 0.2 mm to 1.5 mm and an average puncture resistance of not less than 5 kgf; and an abrasion-resistant layer having a thickness of 0.01 mm to 0.3 mm and an abrasion resistance cycle greater than 5000 cycles.

2. The protective structure as described in claim 1, wherein the impact protection layer is an elastomer or an alloy, the elastomer including polyurethane, silicone, rubber or latex.

3. The protective structure as claimed in claim 1, wherein the puncture-resistant layer comprises an aramid fiber, a polyamide fiber, a polyimide fiber, a polyethylene fiber, a fire-retardant leather, or a combination thereof.

4. The protective structure as claimed in claim 1, wherein the wear-resistant layer comprises a polyurethane, polyvinyl chloride, ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), expanded polytetrafluoroethylene (ePTFE), silicone, rubber, or a combination thereof.

5. A protection system, comprising: One object to be protected; And a protective structure as described in any one of claims 1 to 4, configured to be detachably attached to an outer surface of the object to be protected.
