Abstract

A data management device includes a storage module, a communication module, and a processing module. Upon receiving a new data request, the processing module determines whether the data to be added contains multiple necessary data items. If it does, the processing module determines whether at least one erroneous element exists. If it determines that the at least one erroneous element does not exist, the processing module determines whether it conforms to at least one data specification to be tested. If it determines that it conforms to the at least one data specification to be tested, the processing module stores the data to be added as new data to be retrieved. This achieves the goal of easy data maintenance and retrieval through a unified data format.

Claims

1. A data management device connected to a data source device via a communication network, the data management device comprising: a storage module storing a standard data format and multiple pieces of data to be retrieved conforming to the standard data format, the standard data format indicating multiple necessary data items and their corresponding data types, the standard data format further indicating multiple data specifications corresponding to multiple detection data items, each data specification defining the rules that the data elements of the corresponding detection data item must follow; a communication module connected to the communication network; and a processing module signal-connected to the storage module and the communication module; wherein... After the processing module receives a new request from the data source device via the communication network through the communication module, the new request is related to data to be added. The data to be added contains multiple data elements corresponding to multiple data items. The processing module determines whether the data items of the data to be added cover multiple necessary data items. When the processing module determines that the data items of the data to be added cover such necessary data items, the processing module determines whether there is at least one erroneous element in the data elements corresponding to such necessary data items, wherein the data type of each erroneous element does not conform to the data type of the corresponding necessary data item. When the processing module determines that there is no at least one erroneous element, the processing module determines whether all the data elements of the data to be added conform to at least one data specification to be tested selected from such data specifications. When the processing module determines that all the data elements of the data to be added conform to the at least one data specification to be tested, the processing module stores the data to be added as new data to be retrieved.
