Abstract

This invention provides a wireless communication unit that simplifies the construction of wireless communication areas. The wireless communication unit includes: a connector; and a wireless communication module connected to the connector. When a wired network connection is possible via data transmission through the connector, the module operates in access point mode, providing a wired network connection to the wireless communication terminal. When a wired network connection is not possible, the module operates in repeater mode, relaying radio waves between the access point and the wireless communication terminal.

Claims

1. A wireless communication unit, comprising: Connector; The wireless communication module operates in access point mode, which provides a connection to the wired network to the wireless communication terminal when it can connect to the wired network via data transmission through the connector, and operates in repeater mode, which relays radio waves between the access point and the wireless communication terminal, when it cannot connect to the wired network.

2. The wireless communication unit as described in claim 1, wherein, The wireless communication module operates via power supplied through the connector.

3. The wireless communication unit as described in claim 1, wherein, The wireless communication module attempts to connect to the wired network, operating in access point mode if a connection can be established, and in repeater mode if a connection cannot be established.

4. The wireless communication unit as described in claim 2, wherein, Regarding power supply via the connector, it is via a first pin to a first object connector that can connect to the wired network, and via a second pin to a second object connector that cannot connect to the wired network. When the wireless communication module is powered via the first pin, it operates in the access point mode, and when it is powered via the second pin, it operates in the repeater mode.

5. The wireless communication unit as described in claim 4, wherein, The first object connector is a connector for holding the engagement portion of the wireless communication unit in an information socket installed on the wall.

6. The wireless communication unit as described in claim 4, wherein, The second object connector is a connector installed in a relay unit that connects to a power outlet installed on a wall.

7. The wireless communication unit as described in claim 6, wherein, The relay unit includes: a plug portion for insertion into the power socket; and a locking portion adjacent to the power socket plate for holding the wireless communication unit and having the second object connector thereon, the wireless communication unit being held in the locking portion, and the connector being connected to the second object connector.

8. A wireless communication component, comprising: A wireless communication unit, including a first connector and a wireless communication module; The wireless communication module includes a relay unit connected to a power outlet mounted on a wall, comprising a second connector connected to the first connector of the wireless communication unit. The wireless communication module is configured to: operate in access point mode, providing a connection to the wired network to the wireless communication terminal when a wired network connection is possible via data transmission through the first connector; operate in repeater mode, relaying radio waves between the access point and the wireless communication terminal when a wired network connection is not possible; and operate in repeater mode when the first connector of the wireless communication unit is connected to the second connector of the relay unit.
