Abstract

An anisotropic scar care dressing comprises a sheet-like substrate and an adhesive layer. The sheet-like substrate has a first direction and a second direction, with the Young's modulus of the first direction being greater than that of the second direction. When the scar care dressing is applied to the skin and spans a wound, the sheet-like substrate is configured such that the first direction is substantially perpendicular to the direction of extension of the wound. The higher rigidity of the first direction restricts the relative lateral displacement of the skin on both sides of the wound, thereby creating a lateral locking mechanical effect, while maintaining the necessary compliance in the second direction. Another scar care kit is provided, comprising the aforementioned scar care dressing and a separate optical reference unit, which is physically separated from the scar care dressing and disposed in the vicinity of the wound.

Claims

1. A scar care dressing with an anisotropic structure, comprising: a sheet-like substrate having a first direction and a second direction, wherein the Young's modulus of the first direction is greater than that of the second direction; and an adhesive layer disposed on at least one surface of the sheet-like substrate, characterized in that: when the scar care dressing with an anisotropic structure is applied to the skin and spans a wound, the sheet-like substrate is configured such that the first direction is substantially perpendicular to the extension direction of the wound, thereby restricting the relative lateral displacement of the skin on both sides of the wound by means of the higher rigidity of the first direction, so as to form a lateral locking mechanical effect.
