Abstract

This invention discloses a golf ball comprising a sphere and an outer coating covering the sphere. The outer coating covers the sphere. The outer coating is formed of a thermosetting resin composition, which includes an epoxy-functionalized resin and an acid-curing resin. The epoxy-functionalized resin includes a first reactive monomer, and the first reactive monomer contains an epoxy group. The acid-curing resin includes a second reactive monomer, and the second reactive monomer contains a carboxylic acid group or an anhydride group. Based on 100 wt% of the thermosetting resin composition, the content of the epoxy-functionalized resin is from 15 wt% to 99 wt%, and the content of the acid-curing resin is from 1 wt% to 85 wt%. The molar ratio of the epoxy group to the carboxylic acid or anhydride group in the thermosetting resin composition is in the range of 0.5:1 to 2:1. Therefore, the performance of the golf ball of this invention is controllable and balanced.
