Abstract

This disclosure provides a push-button switch device and its keycap, the keycap comprising a body and a display module. The body has a top side and a bottom side opposite to the top side, and a first mating structure is provided on the bottom side. The display module is housed in the body, and the display module has a display panel and a flexible ribbon cable. The display panel is displayed on the top side of the body, and the flexible ribbon cable extends from one edge of the display panel and passes through the body to be arranged side by side with the first mating structure.

Claims

1. A keycap comprising: a body having a top side and a bottom side opposite to the top side, and a first mating structure provided on the bottom side; and a display module housed in the body, the display module having a display panel and a flexible ribbon cable, the display panel being displayed on the top side of the body, and the flexible ribbon cable extending from one edge of the display panel and passing through the body and arranged side-by-side with the first mating structure.

2. The keycap as described in claim 1, wherein a through-hole is provided on the bottom side of the body, through which the flexible ribbon cable passes out from the bottom side of the body.

The keycap as described in claim 2, wherein the body has a base and a top cover, the bottom side is defined on the base and the first mating structure is disposed on the base, the top side is defined on the top cover, the display panel is housed within the base, the top cover closes the base and the display panel is exposed on the top cover, and the opening is disposed on the base and extends through the base.

4. The keycap as described in claim 3, wherein the top cover is light-transmitting.

5. A push-button switch device, comprising: a keycap as described in any one of claims 1 to 4; and a push-button switch having a second mating structure and a pin assembly, the pin assembly and the second mating structure being respectively disposed on opposite sides of the push-button switch, wherein the first mating structure of the keycap is mated to the second mating structure.

6. The push-button switch device as claimed in claim 5, wherein one of the first mating structure and the second mating structure includes a latch, and the first mating structure and the second mating structure are engaged with each other by the latch.

7. The push-button switch device as claimed in claim 5, wherein the first mating structure and the second mating structure are tightly fitted together.

8. The push-button switch device as described in claim 5 further includes a circuit board, the push-button switch being disposed on the circuit board, and the flexible ribbon cable being connected to the circuit board.

9. The push-button switch device as claimed in claim 8, wherein the circuit board has a front side, the push-button switch is disposed on the front side of the circuit board, and the pin assembly extends through the front side of the circuit board and is soldered to the circuit board.

10. The push-button switch device as claimed in claim 8, wherein the circuit board has a back side and the circuit board has a through-hole through which the flexible ribbon cable passes and is connected to the back side of the circuit board.
