Abstract

A floating board-to-board connector includes a board-to-board receptacle connector and a mating board-to-board plug connector. The board-to-board receptacle connector includes a first base, a first housing covering the first base, and a floating movable seat located within the first base. The board-to-board plug connector includes a second base and a second housing covering the second base. When the board-to-board receptacle connector and the board-to-board plug connector are mated, the spring contacts of the first housing contact the second housing. Each spring guides the insertion of the second housing and also provides signal shielding and grounding.
