Abstract

A modular connection device is disclosed, applicable to board-end connectors and wire-end connectors. The modular connection device includes multiple connector modules, a front housing, a positioning block, and a rear housing. Each connector module includes a circuit board and a cavity, the cavity being injection-molded onto the circuit board. A shielding cover may also be provided on the outside of the connector module. The connector modules are installed in the front housing, the positioning block abuts against the connector module, and the rear housing is screwed to the front housing, abutting against the positioning block. When applied to wire-end connectors, a rotating outer shell may also be provided on the outside of the front housing. The shielding cover may also be fixed to the front housing using snap fasteners, and the connector modules may also be fixed to the front housing using snap fasteners. The connector modules may also be equipped with a foolproof structure to prevent misassembly. When the connector module is pre-installed in the front housing, there will be no front-to-back displacement problem due to assembly tolerances. The positioning block can be pushed forward by the rear housing, thereby reducing the amount of displacement after pre-installation and increasing the holding force of the connector module, making the structure more stable and reliable.

Claims

1. A modular connection device, comprising: A plurality of connector modules are stacked together. Each connector module includes a circuit board and a cavity. The circuit board has multiple terminals. The cavity is injection molded onto the circuit board and covers the circuit board. The front end of the circuit board extends out of the cavity. A front housing is provided, in which the plurality of connector modules are mounted. A positioning block is provided. A rear housing is provided, in which the positioning block is disposed between the front housing and the rear housing. The rear housing is screwed to the front housing and can be pressed against the rear end of the positioning block, so that the positioning block abuts against the plurality of connector modules.

2. The modular connection device as described in claim 1, wherein, A shielding cover is provided outside some or all of the plurality of connector modules. The shielding cover covers the cavity of the connector module. The shielding cover is provided with a plurality of first buckles and a plurality of second buckles. The plurality of first buckles extend into the shielding cover and extend forward at an angle. The plurality of first buckles abut against the outer side of the cavity of the connector module. The plurality of second buckles extend out of the shielding cover and extend backward at an angle. The plurality of second buckles abut against the inner side of the front housing.

3. The modular connection device as described in claim 1, wherein, The front housing is provided with a plurality of third buckles, which extend into the front housing and extend forward at an angle, and abut against the cavity of the connector module.

4. The modular connection device as described in claim 1, wherein, The front housing has a groove, which is located inside the front housing, and one end of the connector module extends into the groove.

5. The modular connection device as described in claim 1, wherein, Two protrusions are provided on the outer side of the cavity of each of the plurality of connector modules, and a plurality of first abutment portions are provided on the inner side of the front housing, which correspond to the two protrusions on the outer side of the cavity of the plurality of connector modules respectively. The positioning block is provided with a plurality of second abutment portions, which correspond to the two protrusions on the outer side of the cavity of the plurality of connector modules respectively. The protrusions are sandwiched between the corresponding first abutment portions and second abutment portions.

6. The modular connection device as described in claim 5, wherein, A shielding cover is provided on the outside of some or all of the plurality of connector modules. The shielding cover covers the cavity of the connector module. A rear recess is provided on each side of the shielding cover. The rear recesses on both sides of the shielding cover are engaged with the two protrusions on the outside of the cavity of the connector module. A rear cover is provided on the outside of some or all of the plurality of connector modules. The rear cover covers the circuit board of the connector module. A front recess is provided on each side of the rear cover. The front recesses on both sides of the rear cover are engaged with the two protrusions on the outside of the cavity of the connector module.

7. The modular connection device as claimed in claim 1, wherein, The outer side of the cavity of the plurality of connector modules is provided with grooves, and the grooves on the outer side of the cavity of the plurality of connector modules are located at different positions or have different widths. The front housing is provided with protrusions that correspond to the grooves on the outer side of the cavity of the plurality of connector modules.

8. The modular connection device as claimed in claim 1, wherein, A shield is provided outside the connector module. Grooves are provided on the outer side of the cavity of the plurality of connector modules. The grooves on the outer side of the cavity of the plurality of connector modules are located at different positions or have different widths. The shield is provided with protrusions that correspond to the grooves on the outer side of the cavity of the plurality of connector modules.

9. The modular connection device as claimed in claim 1, wherein, The plurality of terminals of the circuit board are electrically connected to an adapter. The front housing has a groove located inside the front housing. One end of the connector module and the adapter extend into the groove.
