Abstract

This invention relates to a touch display device with a highly resilient firmware update and automatic recovery mechanism, comprising a memory and a processor. When the processor initiates the firmware update program, it executes a startup loader and updates the backup firmware in the backup area. After the backup firmware update is complete, the processor reads the main program firmware version number in the main program area and the backup firmware version number in the backup area, determines whether the backup firmware version number is complete, and compares the newness of the main program firmware version number with the backup firmware version number. When the backup firmware version number is newer and complete, the processor copies the backup firmware to the main program area. When the backup firmware version number is older or incomplete, the processor copies the main program firmware to the backup area. Thus, even if the update process is unexpectedly interrupted due to unstable communication or power supply, the processor can identify whether the update was successful based on the backup firmware version number upon restarting or reconnection restoration, and take corresponding actions to achieve automatic recovery, eliminating the need for disassembly and maintenance costs.

Claims

1. A touch display device with a highly resilient firmware update and automatic recovery mechanism, comprising: A storage device has a main program area and a backup area; wherein the main program area stores a main program firmware and a main program firmware version number, and the backup area stores a backup firmware and a backup firmware version number; a processor electrically connected to the storage device; wherein, when the processor starts a firmware update program, the processor executes a bootloader and updates the backup firmware, and after the backup firmware update is completed, the processor reads the main program firmware version number and the backup firmware version number, and compares the main program firmware version number and the backup firmware version number; when the backup firmware version number is newer than the main program firmware version number, the processor copies the backup firmware to the main program area as the main program firmware; when the backup firmware version number is older than the main program firmware version number, the processor copies the main program firmware to the backup area as the backup firmware.

2. The touch display device with a highly resilient firmware update and automatic recovery mechanism as described in claim 1, wherein, The backup firmware version number is a version information location stored in the backup area of the storage device.

3. The touch display device with a highly resilient firmware update and automatic recovery mechanism as described in claim 2, wherein, The information for this version is located in the last 16 bytes or 32 bytes of the backup area.

4. A touch display device with a highly resilient firmware update and automatic recovery mechanism as described in claim 1, wherein, The storage device also has a data area, in which an image is stored.

5. A touch display device with a highly resilient firmware update and automatic recovery mechanism as described in claim 1, wherein, The backup firmware version number contains a software version number.

6. A touch display device with a highly resilient firmware update and automatic recovery mechanism as described in claim 5, wherein, When the processor compares the main firmware version number and the backup firmware version number, the processor compares the size of the software version number of the backup firmware version number and the main firmware version number. Wherein, if the software version number of the backup firmware version number is greater than the main firmware version number, the processor determines that the backup firmware version number is newer than the main firmware version number; wherein, if the software version number of the backup firmware version number is less than the main firmware version number, the processor determines that the backup firmware version number is older than the main firmware version number.

7. A touch display device with a highly resilient firmware update and automatic recovery mechanism as described in claim 1, wherein, After the processor reads the main firmware version number and the backup firmware version number, the processor first determines whether the backup firmware version number is complete. If the backup firmware version number is complete, the processor compares the main firmware version number and the backup firmware version number. If the backup firmware version number is incomplete, the processor executes the main firmware.

8. A touch display device with a highly resilient firmware update and automatic recovery mechanism as described in claim 7, wherein, When the backup firmware version number is incomplete, the processor further copies the main program firmware to the backup area.

9. A touch display device with a highly resilient firmware update and automatic recovery mechanism as described in claim 7, wherein, The backup firmware version number includes a software version number and an integrity identifier.

10. A touch display device with a highly resilient firmware update and automatic recovery mechanism as described in claim 9, wherein, When the processor determines whether the backup firmware version number of the backup area is complete, the processor determines whether the backup firmware version number is missing the integrity identification word group; wherein, when the backup firmware version number is not missing the integrity identification word group, the processor determines that the backup firmware version number of the backup area is complete; wherein, when the backup firmware version number is missing the integrity identification word group, the processor determines that the backup firmware version number of the backup area is incomplete.
