Abstract

This case discloses an electronic device for managing network connections, located in a network environment. The electronic device includes a wireless communication system connected to a current network. A processing device is electrically connected to the wireless communication system. The processing device monitors a network quality parameter of the current network and, when the network quality parameter falls below a preset value, executes an exception handling procedure: broadcasting a assistance request signal, causing all network devices in the network environment to return candidate connection information according to the assistance request signal; selecting the best connection network provided by the network device corresponding to the best-performing candidate connection information from the candidate connection information; and performing a connection switch, causing the wireless communication system to connect to the best connection network. A storage device is electrically connected to the processing device to store the candidate connection information.

Claims

1. An electronic device for managing network connections, located in a network environment, the electronic device comprising: a wireless communication system connected to a current network; a processing device electrically connected to the wireless communication system, the processing device monitoring a network quality parameter of the current network, and executing an exception handling procedure after the network quality parameter falls below a preset value: broadcasting a assistance request signal in the network environment, causing all network devices in the network environment to return candidate connection information according to the assistance request signal; collecting the candidate connection information, and selecting from the candidate connection information a best connection network provided by the network device corresponding to the best performing candidate connection information; and performing a connection switch to reconnect the wireless communication system to the best connection network; and a storage device electrically connected to the processing device for storing the candidate connection information.

The electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 1, wherein the processing device further includes a connection quality monitoring module that continuously monitors the network quality parameters of the current network and executes the exception handling procedure after determining that the network quality parameters are lower than the preset value.

The electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 1, wherein the processing device further includes a device collaboration communication module that broadcasts the assistance request signal in the network environment and collects the candidate connection information returned by all network devices.

The electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 1, wherein the processing device further includes a connection decision and switching module, which, during the execution of the exception handling procedure, selects the network device corresponding to the best-performing candidate connection information based on the candidate connection information, enables the network device to provide the best connection network, and drives the wireless communication system to reconnect to the best connection network.

The electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 4, wherein the connection decision and switching module compares and sorts the candidate connection information according to a sorting criterion to select the network device corresponding to the best-performing candidate connection information from the candidate connection information.

6. An electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 5, wherein the sorting criteria include a device distance, an estimated transmission rate, and a historical connection success rate.

The electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 1, wherein the processing device further stores the optimal connection network and its corresponding network device, a setting data and an actual performance result in the storage device as historical connection information.

The electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 7, wherein the processing device further includes a historical data management module that stores the best connection network and its corresponding network device, the setting data and the actual performance results in the storage device.

9. The electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 7, wherein the processing device compares and sorts the candidate connection information based primarily on the historical connection information.

10. The electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 1, wherein the network quality parameter is a Received Signal Strength Indication (RSSI) performance, a transmission rate, or a combination thereof.

11. The electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 1, wherein the processing device transmits the assistance request signal in the network environment via User Data Packet Protocol (UDP) broadcast.

12. The electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 1, wherein the processing device compares and sorts the candidate connection information according to a sorting criterion to select the network device corresponding to the best-performing candidate connection information from the candidate connection information.

13. An electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 12, wherein the sorting criteria include a device distance, an estimated transmission rate, and a historical connection success rate.

14. The electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 1, wherein the candidate connection information includes a network name, a password, a frequency band, and an estimated performance.

15. An electronic device for managing network connections as described in claim 1, wherein the network device transmits the candidate connection information via a Transmission Control Protocol (TCP).
