Abstract

This invention provides a tubing pressure relief pad suitable for placement between a medical tubing and a patient's skin to prevent pressure injuries. The tubing pressure relief pad includes a body and a groove disposed on the body. The medical tubing (e.g., a nasogastric tube) can be placed in the groove. By placing the body on the patient's skin surface (e.g., the nasal ala or philtrum), the pressure of the tubing can be properly distributed, effectively preventing prolonged pressure on local skin tissue and thus avoiding medical device-related pressure injuries.
