Abstract

This invention is an improved structure for a card connector, mainly comprising an insulating base, a sliding assembly, and a housing. The main body of the insulating base has support arms extending from both sides, and a raised portion at the bottom to define an accommodating space. A first positioning post and a second positioning post are respectively provided at the rear and bottom of the main body. The housing covers the main body and has a baffle extending from the rear. Thus, this invention can flexibly provide upright or horizontal assembly. When horizontally assembled, the raised portion forms an accommodating space to accommodate more external electronic components. When vertically assembled, the first positioning post locks the assembly in place, and the accommodating space and the hollowed-out portion of the main body together become heat dissipation and convection channels, providing multi-directional assembly flexibility, maximized space utilization, and excellent heat dissipation benefits.

Claims

1. An improved structure for a card connector, comprising an insulating base, a sliding assembly, and a housing, wherein: The insulating base has two supporting arms extending in the same direction on its main body, forming a docking space between the two supporting arms and the main body. At least one tongue plate extends from the main body into the docking space, and the at least one tongue plate has multiple terminal slots for multiple terminals to pass through and be positioned. A sliding space is formed on one side of the main body, and each of the two supporting arms has a raised portion protruding from its bottom. The sliding assembly is disposed in the sliding space. The housing covers the main body, and each of the two sides of the housing has an extension corresponding to the extension of the two supporting arms. When the main body is assembled onto an external circuit board through the raised portions, it forms a receiving space with a preset height that can accommodate multiple external electronic components.

2. The improved card connector structure as described in claim 1, wherein a cutout is formed on the body below the at least one tongue plate.

3. The improved card connector structure as described in claim 1, wherein a positioning post is protruding on one side of the sliding space adjacent to the at least one tongue plate, and an elastic member is sleeved on the positioning post, and a positioning groove is formed on the opposite side of the positioning post, and the sliding block of the sliding assembly is provided with a sliding groove for assembling one end of a positioning rod, and the other end of the positioning rod is assembled at the positioning groove, and a protruding post is protruding behind the sliding block for positioning one end of the elastic member.

4. The improved card connector structure as described in claim 3, wherein the extension of the housing has a downwardly extending abutting arm that abuts against the positioning rod at the location corresponding to the sliding component.

5. The improved card connector structure as described in claim 1, wherein the rear of the main body is provided with a plurality of first positioning posts that are assembled on a plurality of positioning holes on the upright external circuit board to form positioning.

6. The improved card connector structure as described in claim 1, wherein the bottom of the main body is provided with a plurality of second positioning posts that are positioned on a plurality of corresponding positioning holes on the horizontal external circuit board.

7. The improved card connector structure as described in claim 1, wherein the sides of the two arms are provided with a plurality of positioning blocks, and the sides of the housing are provided with a plurality of positioning ports corresponding to the positioning blocks for positioning.

8. The improved card connector structure as described in claim 1, wherein each of the rear extensions of the two arms has a fixing groove for positioning the screwing element.

9. The improved card connector structure as claimed in claim 1, wherein a plurality of positioning tabs extend from the rear of the housing, and a plurality of positioning plates formed by a bend extend around the housing, and a baffle extends downward from the rear of the housing.

10. The improved card connector structure as described in claim 1, wherein the terminals are provided with a base extending forward to have a mating portion located within the terminal slots, and a contact portion extending rearward from the base to extend out of the body.
