Pipe cutter with concealed blade

Abstract

A pipe cutter with a concealed cutter includes: a main body having a cutting space; a movable member disposed on the main body and movable between a first position and a second position; a feed assembly disposed on the main body and connected to the movable member, operable to drive the movable member to move; and a cutting blade pivotally disposed at one end of the movable member and movable synchronously with the movable member; wherein when the cutting blade moves with the movable member to the first position, the cutting blade extends into the cutting space; when the cutting blade moves with the movable member to the second position, the cutting blade leaves the cutting space and is concealed within the main body.

Claims

1. A pipe cutter with a concealed cutter, comprising: a main body having a cutting space; a movable member disposed on the main body and movable between a first position and a second position; a feed assembly disposed on the main body and connected to the movable member, operable to drive the movable member to move; and a cutting blade pivotally disposed at one end of the movable member and movable synchronously with the movable member; wherein when the cutting blade moves with the movable member to the first position, the cutting blade extends into the cutting space; and when the cutting blade moves with the movable member to the second position, the cutting blade leaves the cutting space and is concealed within the main body.

The pipe cutter with a concealed cutter as described in claim 1, wherein the body has an internal movable space and a first receiving space; the movable space is used to receive the movable member; the first receiving space is connected to the movable space and adjacent to the cutting space, and when the cutter moves with the movable member to the second position, the cutter leaves the cutting space and is received in the first receiving space.

3. The pipe cutter with a concealed cutter as described in claim 2, wherein one side of the main body has a first opening communicating with the first receiving space and adjacent to the cutting space, and the cutter can enter and exit the cutting space along the opening.

The pipe cutter with a concealed cutter as described in claim 2, wherein the main body has an arcuate portion and a tube portion; the arcuate portion is generally C-shaped, and its recess forms the cutting space; the tube portion is connected to one end of the arcuate portion and extends in a direction away from the cutting space; wherein the movable space and the first accommodating space are formed axially inside the tube portion.

The pipe cutter with a concealed cutter as described in claim 1, wherein the body has a second receiving space inside and a second opening is provided at one end of the body and communicates with the second receiving space; further comprising a trimming cutter received in the second receiving space and removable through the second opening.

A pipe cutter with a concealed cutter as described in claim 5, wherein the main body has an arcuate portion and a tube portion; the arcuate portion is generally C-shaped, and its recess forms the cutting space; the tube portion is connected to one end of the arcuate portion and extends in a direction away from the cutting space; wherein the second opening is formed on the side of the arcuate portion away from the cutting space and is not adjacent to the cutting space.

The pipe cutter with a concealed cutter as claimed in claim 1, wherein the feed assembly has a screw and a knob, the screw being connected to the movable member for rotation to drive the movable member toward the first position or the second position; the knob being connected to the screw via a fixing member for operation to drive the screw to rotate.

The pipe cutter with a concealed cutter as described in claim 7, wherein a third receiving space is provided at one end of the knob away from the cutting space, and a third opening is provided at one end of the knob and communicates with the third receiving space; further comprising a spare cutter, received in the third receiving space and removable through the third opening.

A pipe cutter with a concealed cutter as claimed in claim 8, wherein the feed assembly further includes a cover detachably disposed at one end of the knob and covering the third opening; the cover has an annular rib, a fixing shaft, and a fastener; the annular rib extends from one end of the cover; one end of the fixing shaft is fixed inside the annular rib, and the other end extends out of the annular rib and passes through the axis of the spare cutter; the fastener is disposed at the end of the fixing shaft opposite the annular rib, such that the spare cutter is clamped between the annular rib and the fastener.

A pipe cutter with a concealed cutter as claimed in claim 9, wherein the bottom of the annular rib has a non-circular retaining hole; one end of the retaining shaft has a head whose shape corresponds to the shape of the retaining hole, such that when the retaining shaft is inserted into the annular rib, the head engages with the retaining hole.
