Active mechanical prosthesis of the fingers of the hand

Abstract

Active mechanical prosthesis of the fingers of the hand for cases of complete or partial absence of fingers or part of the hand is made in the form of a cluster of artificial fingers that are attached to a cuff of the hand stump and designed to move through flexion or extension of the wrist. Prosthesis has a wrist cuff connected to the cuff of the hand stump. The artificial fingers are moved by means of rods, one end of which is attached to the fingers and the other to the cuff of the hand stump. The artificial fingers are hinged and consist of a hinge joint and finger segments, which have a tension return spring on their upper side. A mechanism for tensioning the artificial finger cables via a cable is located on the wrist cuff. The cuffs are designed to be fastened and secured to the hand using buckles, straps, buttons, or laces.
