Abstract

Method for loosening frozen bulk cargo in a railway car, in which the energy of an explosion from a uniformly distributed system of detonators with switching conductors is utilized; the detonators are set off prior to unloading the bulk cargo. Uniformly spaced openings are made in the upper part of the frozen bulk cargo, into which a system of detonators with switching conductors is placed; the railway car is then covered from the top with a heavy, domed metal lid. This lid is secured to the railway car with springs, and foam is injected into the space between the bulk cargo and the domed lid.
