Navigation template for placement of interradicular orthodontic microimplants

Abstract

Navigation template for placement of interradicular orthodontic microimplants consists of a base section designed to be secured to the patient’s teeth and at least one guide sleeve for inserting an instrument when preparing the site for an orthodontic microimplant. Wherein, navigation template is custom-made for each patient based on the digital alignment of cone-beam computerized tomography data and a digital model of the dental arches. The guide sleeve is rigidly integrated into the base section and is positioned to account for the spatial arrangement of the tooth roots in the interradicular area and designed to mechanically limit the angle of inclination and the insertion depth of the instrument or orthodontic microimplant in accordance with the preplanned position. Base section is designed to be tooth-supported, resting on the crowns of the teeth, and additionally includes at least one front window intended for visual verification of the correct fit of the navigation template on the patient’s teeth before and during the placement of the orthodontic microimplant.
