AI Technical Summary

Technical Problem

Existing wellhead lubricators face inefficiencies due to the need for multiple flanges, connections, and welds, which complicate the diversion of fluids and impose geometric demands on the wellhead, necessitating a more efficient and streamlined flow path.

Method used

An annular flow sleeve within a wellhead lubricator that incorporates an internal flow tube, allowing for a single, accessible flow path with adjustable outlet ports and a removable design for easy maintenance, reducing the need for additional flow paths and simplifying fluid diversion.

Benefits of technology

The annular flow sleeve provides a more efficient and streamlined fluid diversion process, minimizing the number of components and facilitating quick maintenance, while supporting various flow rates and artificial lift devices.

Abstract

Described herein are embodiments of apparatuses and methods that include an annular flow lubricator. In an exemplary embodiment, the annular flow lubricator may include a body housing an internal flow tube such that well flow enters a lower portion of the internal flow tube, travels up the internal flow tube, and exits an upper portion of the internal flow tube. Upon exiting the upper portion of the internal flow tube, well flow then travels in an annulus between the body of the lubricator and a wall of the internal flow tube before exiting an outlet port of the lubricator.
