[0001] The present invention relates to golf type games, specifically the game of golf employing an oversized golf club head and golf ball.BACKGROUND

[0002] Golf is a popular sport played by many of varying gender, ages, and skill levels. Golfing may also be a quite challenging sport, requiring training and practice of technical skills, which, when played amongst others, may quickly cause a divide between those who are beginners and novices from those who are advanced players of the sport.

[0003] As the game of golf has been around for many years, popular manufacturers who produce golfing equipment typically aim to produce equipment that can be marketed to professionals. Golf clubs and golf balls, for example, typically are manufactured to have dimensions that are within the boundaries of what is allowed to be played during professional golfing events, such as the Professional Golfers’ Association (“PGA”) Tour. At least in the United States, manufacturers typically dimension golf clubs and golf balls within the regulations prescribed by the United States Golf Association (“USGA”).

[0006] The present invention provides a golf game or golf-type game employing an oversized golf club in use with an oversized golf ball for use on a standard golf course allowing for the enjoyment of recreational and experienced players alike. The golf clubs of the present invention include golf club heads approximately four times larger than a standard or regulation golf club head while maintaining a similar weight. The golf ball of the present invention is larger to increase the likelihood of contact with the oversized golf club head.

The golf game of the present invention may be played with a single golf club or multiple golf clubs having varying types of golf club head types.

[0034] In an embodiment of a golf club, as seen in FIGS. 1-7, the golf club head is shaped to resemble an iron. In a preferred embodiment, the iron 100 is formed from a thermoplastic such as Polyamide 66 (PA 66) allowing for lightweight handling, resistance to impact, and durability. Other lightweight, rigid materials, such as Polyamide 6 (PA 6) or acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (“ABS”), are also contemplated. Manufacturing of the iron 100 is preferably by way of injection molding, which allows for less thickness of iron 100 while maintaining the durability and a decreased chance of warping of the finished iron 100, but other methods, such as additive printing, are also contemplated. It is contemplated that the iron 100 can be an iron of any loft.

[0035] The size of the iron 100 head is approximately four times larger than a standard or regulation golf iron having a blade length 101 of approximately 155 mm to 200mm and a toe height 102 of 170mm to 173mm. In a preferred embodiment, the putter 200 is formed from a thermoplastic such as Polyamide 66 (PA 66)allowing for lightweight handling, resistance to impact, and durability. Other lightweight, rigid materials, such as PA 6 or ABS, are contemplated. It is contemplated that the putter 200 can be any type of putter including, but not limited to, blade, half mallet, or mallet-type putters. Manufacturing of the putter 200 is preferably by way of injection molding, which allows for less thickness of putter 200 while maintaining the durability and a decreased chance of warping of the finished putter 200, but other methods, such as additive printing, are also contemplated.

In a preferred embodiment, the golf ball 300 is formed from rubber with a smooth outer layer and a hollow interior in order to maximize travel when hit. Other materials are contemplated.

1. A method of playing a golf-type game, comprising the steps of:providing a golf club having an oversized golf club head approximately four times the size of a regulation golf club head; andproviding an oversized golf ball capable of entering a standard golf course cup.

2. The method of claim 1, further comprising an oversized golf club head shaped to resemble an iron having a blade and a toe.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the length of the blade of the golf club head is approximately 155 mm to 200mm.

4. The method of claim 2, wherein the height of the toe of the golf club head is approximately 170mm to 173mm.

5. The method of claim 2, wherein the weight of the golf club head is approximately 245 grams to 280 grams.

6. The method of claim 1, further comprising an oversized golf club head shaped to resemble a putter having a face, a heel and a toe.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the length of the face of the golf club head is approximately 240mm to 250mm.

8. The method of claim 6, wherein the length of the heel of the golf club head is approximately 50mm to 75mm.

9. The method of claim 6, wherein the height of the toe of the golf club head is approximately 35mm to 65mm.

16. The golf club of claim 15, wherein the weight of the golf club head is substantially the same weight of a standard golf club head.

17. The golf club of claim 15, wherein the golf club head is made of thermoplastic material.
