Toiletry Storage System with Wall-Mountable Shelf Insert

Abstract

The present invention is a portable toiletry storage and organization system comprising a soft-cased toiletry bag and a removable, triangular prism-shaped shelf insert. The toiletry bag has symmetrical, triangular prism-shaped storage compartments and includes a zipper fastener to securely store the shelf insert and toiletry items therein. The shelf insert includes a rectangular rear wall with attachment mechanisms, such as suction cups or magnets, for temporary mounting on vertical surfaces such as a wall. A planar rectangular base extends perpendicularly from the rear wall and provides a stable platform for holding toiletries. A pair of opposing side walls form a triangular profile to offer structural support and to prevent items placed on the base from falling. The system can transition between a portable storage solution and an accessible display platform.

CROSS-REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION

[0002] The present invention generally relates to portable toiletry storage and organization systems. More specifically, the invention relates to a portable toiletry bag and shelf system. The system includes a soft-cased toiletry bag designed with symmetrical, triangular prism-shaped compartments for securely storing toiletry items and a removable shelf insert. The removable shelf insert is configured as a triangular prism-shaped bracket and includes a rectangular rear wall with attachment mechanisms, such as suction cups or magnets, for adhering to vertical surfaces, such as walls or mirrors. A flat (i.e., planar) rectangular base extends perpendicularly from the bottom edge of the rear wall and is designed to hold toiletries in an organized manner. Additionally, a pair of inclined planar side walls extends from opposite edges of the base, forming a triangular side profile that provides structural support and prevents items from falling. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.BACKGROUND

[0003] By way of background, individuals often face a lack of storage space in bathrooms in confined accommodations such as hotels, cruise ship rooms, recreational vehicles, or other similar areas. Bathrooms in these settings are typically compact, poorly designed for organizational needs, and often lack adequate shelving or storage solutions for personal items. As a result, travelers often struggle to find a convenient and accessible place to store their toiletry items. As a result, travelers are left with cluttered countertops, or they are forced to store toiletries in their luggage or travel bags, which are inconvenient for frequent use.

[0004] Moreover, many traditional toiletry bags only serve as storage units and do not provide a functional solution for display or immediate access. Travelers are required to dig through their toiletry bags every time they need an item, an activity that can be disruptive and time-consuming, especially when items shift around during transport. Individuals desire an innovative, dual-purpose solution that transitions between a travel bag and a convenient storage platform.

[0005] Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a portable toiletry storage system that addresses the challenges of organizing and accessing toiletry items in compact and poorly equipped bathrooms. There is a long-felt need for a solution that provides an accessible and organized platform to hold toiletry items. Additionally, there is a long-felt need for a system that eliminates the need to store any toiletry items on a sink or on the sides of a tub and risk cluttering a bathroom. Furthermore, there is a long-felt need for a dual-function storage solution that combines the portability of a toiletry bag with the practicality of a shelf for display and use. More specifically, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a lightweight and compact toiletry bag with an integrated, removable shelf insert that can be temporarily mounted on vertical surfaces, providing a secure and organized space for toiletries. Finally, there is a long-felt need for an innovative toiletry storage system that is easy to use, durable, and adaptable for both travel and home use.

[0006] The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment, comprises a portable toiletry storage bag and shelf system. The system includes a soft-cased toiletry bag made from durable and lightweight material, designed to securely store toiletry items and a removable shelf insert. The toiletry bag features symmetrical, triangular prism-shaped storage compartments, equipped with a zipper fastener to ensure secure storage and easy access to the contents. The removable shelf insert is configured as a triangular prism-shaped bracket and includes a rectangular rear wall with attachment mechanisms, such as suction cups or magnets, to temporarily mount the shelf on vertical surfaces like walls or mirrors. The shelf insert further includes a flat (i.e., planar) rectangular base that extends perpendicularly from the rear wall and is configured to hold toiletries, and the inclined planar side walls provide structural support and prevent items from falling.

[0029] Referring initially to the drawings, FIG. 1 illustrates a perspective view of the portable toiletry storage bag and shelf system of the present invention in an unassembled state in accordance with the disclosed architecture. The portable toiletry storage bag and shelf system 100 of the present invention is designed as an organizer to store and access toiletry items. More specifically, the system 100 includes a soft-cased toiletry bag 102 and a removable wall-mounted shelf insert 104. The soft-cased toiletry bag 102 is preferably made from a durable and lightweight material. The bag 102 is designed to store the shelf insert 104 and one or more toiletries. The shelf insert 104 functions as a temporary storage unit for toiletries and provides an accessible and organized platform to hold frequently used toiletries or similar items.

[0030] The shelf insert 104 is in the form of a triangular prism-shaped shelf or bracket and has a rectangular rear wall 106 which is adapted to adhere to a wall when the shelf insert 104 is used for organizing various items. A flat (i.e., planar) rectangular base 108 extends perpendicularly from the bottom lateral edge 109 of the rear wall 106 of the bracket 104 such that the flat (i.e., planar) base 108 is perpendicular to the rear wall 106. The shelf insert 104 can be attached to a wall, mirror, or smooth surface using the built-in magnets or suction cups as illustrated in FIGS. 2 and 3 for placing the toiletry items on the flat (i.e., planar) rectangular base 108 of the shelf insert 104.

[0033] FIG. 2 illustrates a rear perspective view of the triangular prism-shaped shelf in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. As illustrated, the triangular prism-shaped shelf 104 of the dual-function toiletry storage system 100 has a plurality of suction cups 202 disposed on the outer surface 204 of the rectangular rear wall 106. The suction cups 202 enable a user to press the rectangular rear wall 106 to a wall or any other surface to adhere the rectangular rear wall 106 to the wall 106, thereby mounting the shelf 104 to the wall. In some embodiment, various mounting means including but not limited to magnets, clips, and more can be disposed on the outer surface 204 of the rear wall 106.

[0034] FIG. 3 illustrates a perspective view showing the triangular prism-shaped shelf mounted to a wall in accordance with the disclosed structure. The triangular prism-shaped shelf 104 is positioned such that the rear wall 106 adheres to the wall 302 and the flat (i.e., planar) base 108 remains substantially horizontal and perpendicular to the wall 302. A push can be applied to the shelf 104 to adhere the rear wall 106 to the wall 302 using the suction cups 202. In the installed position of the shelf 104 as illustrated in FIG. 3, a plurality of items 304 can be placed on the base 108 in a secure and organized manner. After use, the shelf 104 can be pulled and removed from the wall 302 for secure storage in the toiletry bag 102.

[0035] FIG. 4 illustrates a perspective view of the toiletry bag storing the triangular prism-shaped shelf in accordance with one embodiment of the present invention. The triangular prism-shaped shelf 104 can be placed inside the toiletry bag 102 and the storage members 126, 128 can accommodate the shelf 104. It should be noted that one or more toiletry items can also be stored inside the bag 102. For securing the shelf 104 and the items, the zipper 146 is fastened to prevent access to the shelf 104.

Initially, as illustrated in FIG. 4, the toiletry bag 102 bag holds the shelf 104 and for using the shelf 104 in a room or any other similar place, the shelf 104 is removed from the toiletry bag 102 by a user 502 to mount the shelf 104 to a wall (as shown in FIG. 3). After use, the shelf 104 can be stored inside the bag 102 for storage and travel.

1. A portable toiletry storage unit comprising:a soft-cased toiletry bag; anda shelf insert;wherein said shelf insert selectively removable from said soft-cased toiletry bag;wherein said shelf insert having a rectangular rear wall, a rectangular base, a first side wall, and a second side wall;wherein said rectangular base is a planar base;wherein said planar base extends perpendicular to said rectangular rear wall;wherein said pair of opposing planar side walls extend from opposing edges of said rectangular base; andfurther wherein said shelf insert selectively mountable to a planar surface for accessing toiletries.

2. The toiletry storage unit of claim 1, wherein said shelf insert having a form of a triangular prism-shaped shelf.

3. The toiletry storage unit of claim 1, wherein said first side wall extends to a top end of a first side edge of said rectangular rear wall.

4. The toiletry storage unit of claim 3, wherein said second side wall extends to a top end of a second side edge of said rectangular rear wall.

5. The toiletry storage unit of claim 4, wherein said first side wall is a first planar side wall and said second side wall is a second planar side wall.

6. The toiletry storage unit of claim 5, wherein said soft-cased toiletry bag having a first storage member and a second storage member, and further wherein said first storage member symmetrical to said second storage member.

7. The toiletry storage unit of claim 6, wherein said first storage member and a second storage member having a triangular prism shape.

8. The toiletry storage unit of claim 7, wherein said first storage member having a rectangular rear wall, a rectangular base, and a pair of side walls.

9. The toiletry storage unit of claim 8, wherein said second storage member having a rectangular rear wall, a rectangular base, and a pair of side walls.

10. The toiletry storage unit of claim 9, wherein each of said first storage member and said second storage member dimensioned to selectively accommodate said shelf insert.

11. A portable toiletry storage unit comprising:a soft-cased toiletry bag; anda shelf insert;wherein said shelf insert selectively removable from said soft-cased toiletry bag;wherein said shelf insert having a rectangular rear wall, a rectangular base, a first side wall, and a second side wall;wherein said rectangular base is a planar base comprising a textured material;wherein said planar base extends perpendicular to said rectangular rear wall;wherein said pair of opposing planar side walls extend from opposing edges of said rectangular base;wherein said shelf insert selectively mountable to a planar surface for accessing toiletries; andfurther wherein said rectangular rear wall having a plurality of fasteners on an outer surface selected from the group consisting of a magnet, a clip, and a suction cup for mounting to the planar surface.

12. The toiletry storage unit of claim 11, wherein said shelf insert having a form of a triangular prism-shaped shelf.

13. The toiletry storage unit of claim 11, wherein said first side wall extends to a top end of a first side edge of said rectangular rear wall, and further wherein said second side wall extends to a top end of a second side edge of said rectangular rear wall.

14. The toiletry storage unit of claim 11, wherein said soft-cased toiletry bag having a first storage member and a second storage member, and further wherein said first storage member symmetrical to said second storage member.

15. The toiletry storage unit of claim 14, wherein said first storage member and a second storage member having a triangular prism shape.

16. The toiletry storage unit of claim 15, wherein each of said first storage member and said second storage member dimensioned to selectively accommodate said shelf insert.

17. A method of using a portable toiletry storage unit, the method comprising the steps of:providing a soft-cased toiletry bag and a shelf insert, wherein said shelf insert selectively removable from said soft-cased toiletry bag, wherein said shelf insert having a rectangular rear wall, a rectangular base, a first side wall, and a second side wall;removing said shelf insert from said soft-cased toiletry bag;mounting said shelf insert to a planar surface using a plurality of fasteners selected from the group consisting of a magnet, a clip, and a suction cup for mounting to the planar surface;placing toiletries from said soft-cased toiletry bag onto said rectangular base; andaccessing the toiletries.

18. The method of using a portable toiletry storage unit of claim 17, wherein said shelf insert having a form of a triangular prism-shaped shelf.

19. The method of using a portable toiletry storage unit of claim 18, wherein said soft-cased toiletry bag having a first storage member and a second storage member, and further wherein said first storage member symmetrical to said second storage member.

20. The method of using a portable toiletry storage unit of claim 19, wherein each of said first storage member and said second storage member dimensioned to selectively accommodate said shelf insert, and further wherein said soft-cased toiletry bag having a zipper for fastening said first storage member to said second storage member.
