Abstract

TECHNICAL FIELD

[0002] A mattress assembly can support a user who is lying down or sitting thereon. The mattress assembly may include a mattress for supporting a user and a main body for supporting the mattress. In addition, the mattress can be formed with varying levels of firmness to provide comfort to the user. However, conventional mattresses have a drawback in that their firmness cannot be adjusted to suit the body shape of every user supported by the mattress.

A mattress assembly comprising:an air pocket unit configured to receive air;a main body unit accommodating the air pocket unit;a topper for supporting a user's body; anda cell unit including a cell member disposed between the main body unit and the topper to move a portion of the topper in an up-down direction so that the user's body supported on the topper is stretched,wherein the cell member includes an air receiving part that is expanded upward by introducing air therein or contracted by discharging the introduced air therefrom so that a portion of the topper is moved up and down.

The mattress assembly of claim 1, wherein one of a left-right length of the air receiving part, which extends in a left-right direction, and a front-rear length of the air receiving part, which extends in a direction perpendicular to the left-right direction, is smaller than the other,the air pocket unit includes a plurality of air pockets for receiving air, anda left-right length and a front-rear length of each of the plurality of air pockets are smaller than the left-right length and the front-rear length of the air receiving part.

The mattress assembly of claim 1, wherein the cell unit further includes a cell support part disposed between the topper and the air pocket unit to support the cell member,the cell member is disposed within a cell-member arrangement region, which is a portion of the entire region of the cell support part, when viewed from above, andthe cell-member arrangement region is provided as a plurality of cell-member arrangement regions arranged to be spaced apart from each other in a front-rear direction within the entire region of the cell support part, andthe spacing between the plurality of cell-member arrangement regions in the front-rear direction is greater than an average length of the plurality of cell-member arrangement regions in the front-rear direction.

4. The mattress assembly of claim 1, wherein the cell member is provided as a plurality of cell members arranged to be spaced apart from each other in a front-rear direction, andthe air pocket unit is formed to have an area larger than that of the plurality of cell members.

The mattress assembly of claim 1, wherein the cell unit further includes a cell support part disposed between the topper and the air pocket unit to support the cell member,the cell support part is formed with a cell groove which is recessed downward from an upper surface thereof and in which the cell member is seated, andan upper surface of the air receiving part is positioned below the upper surface of the cell support part when air is discharged from the cell member beyond a predetermined amount.

6. The mattress assembly of claim 5, further comprising a tube which is connected to the cell member and provides a passage for air to flow to the cell member,wherein the cell support part is further formed with a cell hole through which the tube passes.

7. The mattress assembly of claim 5, wherein the cell unit further includes a fixing part which is disposed in the cell groove, has a sheet shape, and fixes the cell member to the cell support part.

8. The mattress assembly of claim 7, wherein the fixing part is formed of non-woven fabric, andthe cell unit further includes a Velcro which is disposed on a lower surface of the air receiving part and is attached to the fixing part.

The mattress assembly of claim 1, wherein the air receiving section includes:an upper sheet; anda lower sheet whose edges are connected to edges of the upper sheet to provide a receiving space for receiving air together with the upper sheet, andwherein when air is discharged from the air receiving part, central portions of the upper sheet and the lower sheet come into close contact with each other.

The mattress assembly of claim 1, wherein the cell member further includes an air flow channel which is disposed inside the air receiving part and extends toward both sides of the air receiving part to provide a passage through which air introduced into the air receiving part flows toward both sides of the air receiving part.

11. The mattress assembly of claim 1, wherein the cell member is provided as a plurality of cell members, and at least some of the plurality of cell members are expanded to different heights when inflated by air introduced therein.

The mattress assembly of claim 1, wherein the air receiving part is provided as a plurality of air receiving parts, with one of the plurality of air receiving parts being disposed above another, anda communication hole through which air flows is formed between the plurality of air receiving parts.

13. The mattress assembly of claim 1, further comprising a tube which is connected to the cell member and provides a passage for air to flow to the cell member,wherein a main body groove, into which a portion of the tube is inserted, is formed on an inner surface of the main body unit.
