TECHNICAL FIELD

[0002] It is known that snus (tobacco for oral use) is generally sold loose in pre-dosed packages or pre-portioned in pouches contained in a box in order to preserve the properties and humidity of the tobacco over time.

[0003] In particular, it is known to manufacture containers comprising a main body and a lid, where the main body is provided with two or more compartments communicating with one another and accessible by simultaneously opening the aforesaid lid. Typically, the two or more compartments are intended to contain respective kinds or qualities of moist tobacco to be consumed. Moreover, one of the aforesaid compartments can be used to contain portions of consumed tobacco that is collected temporarily or permanently by the user inside the container until it has been completely used up.

Claims

1. A container for snus, comprising a main body extending around a main axis and having at least one outer side wall, arranged around the main axis and circumscribing a containing space, and a first opening and a second opening, opposite each other; the main body having at least one partition wall arranged transversely in the containing space to divide the containing space into a first half-space, accessible from the first opening, and a second half-space, accessible from the second opening;the at least one partition wall being shaped in such a way as to define at least two containing cavities and at least two protrusions in the first half-space and to define at least two protrusions and two containing cavities in the second half-space,wherein each cavity of the first half-space corresponds, on the opposite side, to a respective protrusion of the second half-space, and wherein each cavity of the second half-space corresponds, on the opposite, to a respective protrusion of the first half-space;the container further comprising a first lid , configured to close the first opening when the first half-space is in a closed configuration, and a second lid, configured to close the second opening when the second half-space is in a closed configuration.

2. The container according to claim 1, wherein the cavities and the protrusions extend radially, in the manner of rays diverging from the centre, and are angularly alternated with each other.

3. The container according to claim 2, wherein the first half-space has between two and six cavities, and more preferably, between three and five cavities.

4. The container according to any one of the preceding claims, claim 1, wherein the cavities and the protrusions have the same angle size.

5. The container according to claim 1, wherein the cavities of the first half-space differ in angle size from the protrusions of the first half-space.

6. The container according to claim 1, wherein the cavities of the first half-space have the same angle size and / or wherein the protrusions of the first half-space have the same angle size.

7. The container according claim 1, wherein at least two of the cavities of the first half-space have different angle sizes and / or wherein at least two of the protrusions of the first half-space have different angle sizes.

8. The container according to claim 1, wherein the first lid has an inside surface that is substantially shaped to match the outside surface, transverse to the main axis, of the protrusions of the first half-space so as to sealedly close the adjacent cavities of the first half-space.

9. The container according to claim 1, wherein the second lid has an inside surface that is substantially shaped to match the outside surface, transverse to the main axis, of the protrusions of the second half-space so as to sealedly close the adjacent cavities of the second half-space.

10. The container according to claim 8, wherein the first lid has a curved, convex outside surface and wherein the second lid has a curved, concave outside surface, preferably substantially matching the outside surface of the first lid to allow identical containers to be stacked.

11. The container according to claim 1, wherein the protrusions of the first half-space have respective outside surfaces, transverse to the main axis, lying on a common surface having a curved, outwardly convex shape, specifically cap-shaped.

12. The container according to claim 1, wherein the protrusions of the second half-space have respective outside surfaces, transverse to the main axis, lying on a common surface having a curved, outwardly concave shape, specifically cap-shaped.

The container according to claim 1, wherein the partition wall is defined by a single, thin, contoured wall to define, on one side, the cavities and the protrusions of the first half-space and on the opposite side, the cavities and the protrusions of the second half-space the partition wall being preferably integral with the outer side wall.

14. The container according to claim 1, wherein the outer side wall of the main body has a circular, elliptic or polygonal cross section.

15. The container according to claim 1, wherein at least one of the lids, is made at least partly from silicone material, in particular in a region facing towards the respective half-space.

Use of a container according to claim 1 for containing snus, wherein the cavities of the first half-space are for containing moist tobacco, in particular, in pre-dosed pouches or in loose form, while the cavities of the second half-space are for containing used tobacco or moist tobacco of a different kind or quality, in particular, in pre-dosed pouches or in loose form.
