Abstract

The subject matter relates to a two-tie system, full-support, kimono robe. The robe has two tie systems that allow for additional movement and convenience with regard to not having a bulky belt on the front of a robe. The robe also has interior support which won't fall open when the user is bending over.

[0002] The present disclosure relates generally to garments and apparel, and more particularly to a kimono-style robe incorporating integrated support features and an adjustable sleeve retention system that enhances mobility, comfort, and functional performance while maintaining a luxury aesthetic.BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

[0003] Traditional kimono-style robes are loose-fitting, flowing garments characterized by overlapping front panels and wide sleeves. While aesthetically pleasing and comfortable, such garments often lack structural support and functional control.

[0004] In conventional designs, sleeves may drape excessively, interfere with grooming or household activities, or contact water, cosmetics, or other materials during use. Additionally, traditional robes do not provide integrated bust support, requiring separate garments to be worn beneath the robe.

[0005] There remains a need for a refined, luxury kimono-style robe that preserves elegance and comfort while incorporating functional improvements that enhance usability, mobility, and support during daily routines.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0006] The present disclosure provides a kimono-style robe designed as a luxury upgrade to traditional garments by integrating structural support and adjustable sleeve functionality while preserving aesthetic appeal.

[0007] The robe includes an adjustable sleeve retention system configured to secure sleeves in an elevated or bustled position. When secured, the sleeves remain elevated without requiring repeated rolling, thereby maintaining forearm exposure and preventing interference during grooming or daily activities.

[0008] The robe further includes an integrated bra assembly removably secured within the garment through an elongated strap and loop system. The bra assembly includes a front-tie adjustment mechanism that allows adjustable support without requiring the wearer to reach behind her back.

[0017] Referring to FIGS. 1-8, a kimono-style robe 10 includes a body portion 12 having a left front panel 14 and a right front panel 16 configured to overlap in a traditional kimono wrap arrangement.

[0018] Sleeves 18 extend from body portion 12. Each sleeve is dimensioned to provide the traditional flowing aesthetic of a kimono garment while incorporating a concealed retention mechanism.Adjustable Sleeve Retention System

[0019] Each sleeve 18 includes a loop type buttonhole 44 positioned along the sleeve length. A corresponding button 40 is secured near a shoulder region 42 of the body portion 12. This type of buttonhole 44 is known in the art and may be formed of a length of elastic material.

[0020] When a sleeve is rolled or gathered upwardly, the buttonhole 44 may engage the shoulder-mounted button 40, thereby maintaining the sleeve in a bustled or elevated position.

[0021] In this secured configuration, the sleeve remains elevated without slipping or requiring continuous adjustment.

[0022] The sleeve configuration provides functional advantages. Forearms remain exposed to permit unrestricted arm movement during hairstyling, skincare routines, makeup application, hand washing, cooking, or similar activities. Note the weight reduction as the sleeve is bustled allows the user to hold their arms over their head for extended period for, e.g., blow drying hair.

[0025] The robe 10 includes an integrated bra assembly 30 comprising cups 34 configured to support a wearer's breasts.

[0026] An elongated strap 36 extends from one side of the bra assembly 30. A plurality of loops 38 are positioned near the collar region 20 on an interior surface of the robe. The elongated strap 36 is configured to thread through the loops 38 and secure to an opposing side of the bra assembly 30.

[0027] The bra assembly 30 includes a front-tie adjustment mechanism 39 that permits adjustable tension and support. The front tie 39 does not need to be loosened for the bra cups 34 to be laterally repositioned for breastfeeding. The bra assembly 30 further permits selective access to each cup 34 without disengaging the elongated tie 39. Each bra cup 34 is configured for lateral movement along the tie 39, thereby allowing the wearer to reposition one or both cups 34 away from a desired area of the chest. To facilitate this lateral movement, the tie 39 extends into and through a sleeve 38 formed at the bottom edge 35 of each cup 34 as can be seen best in FIG. 2. This lateral sliding movement enables breastfeeding access while the garment remains secured and without requiring untying, unclasping, or removal of the robe.

[0028] Because the tie is positioned at the front, the wearer may adjust support without reaching behind her back. The bra cups 34 and bra assembly 30 are designed as one size fits all so that if the robe fits the bra 30 will fit. Partial repositioning of the bra cup 34 may be achieved to facilitate breastfeeding without removal of the robe.

[0029] The bra assembly is removable by unthreading the elongated strap from the loops, permitting independent washing or replacement.

[0030] The integrated configuration allows the robe and bra assembly to be donned simultaneously as a coordinated garment, enhancing convenience and maintaining a streamlined silhouette.Closure and Belt System

Claims

1. A kimono-style robe comprising:a body portion having overlapping front panels configured in a kimono wrap style;sleeves attached to said body portion, each sleeve including a buttonhole configured to engage a button secured at a shoulder region to maintain the sleeve in a bustled position;an elongated belt attached to said body portion, said belt being of sufficient length to be tied at either a front or a back of the robe;a plurality of loops formed on said body portion near a collar region;a bra assembly having an elongated strap extending from one side of the bra assembly, said elongated strap configured to thread through said loops and secure to an opposing side of said bra assembly; anda front-tie adjustment mechanism associated with said bra assembly.

2. The kimono-style robe of claim 1, wherein said bra assembly is removable from said robe by unthreading said elongated strap from said loops.

3. The kimono-style robe of claim 1, wherein said button is secured to each shoulder region and a corresponding buttonhole is formed in each sleeve.

4. The kimono-style robe of claim 1, further comprising closure means positioned along said overlapping front panels to secure the robe in a closed position.

5. The kimono-style robe of claim 4, wherein said closure means comprise snaps or clips.

6. The kimono-style robe of claim 1, wherein said loops are positioned on an interior surface of said body portion adjacent to said collar region.

7. The kimono-style robe of claim 1, wherein said elongated belt is between 60 and 100 inches in length.

8. The kimono-style robe of claim 1, wherein said bra assembly comprises cups for supporting a wearer's breasts and said elongated strap is adjustable to vary tension and support.

9. The kimono-style robe of claim 1, wherein said front-tie adjustment mechanism allows adjustment of support without requiring the wearer to reach behind her back.

10. The kimono-style robe of claim 1, wherein said bra assembly and said robe are configured to be donned simultaneously as a single integrated garment.

11. The kimono-style robe of claim 8, wherein each of the bra cups can be laterally repositioned without removal of the robe.

12. The kimono-style robe of claim 1, wherein securing said sleeves in the bustled position maintains forearm exposure to permit unrestricted arm movement during grooming activities.

13. The kimono-style robe of claim 12, wherein said grooming activities include hairstyling, skincare application, makeup application, or hand washing.

14. The kimono-style robe of claim 1, wherein securing said sleeves in the bustled position prevents contact between sleeve fabric and water or cosmetic products.

15. The kimono-style robe of claim 1, wherein securing said sleeves in the bustled position promotes airflow along a forearm of the wearer.

16. A method of securing a bra within a kimono-style robe having sleeves comprising:providing a kimono-style robe having loops formed near a collar region;providing a bra assembly having an elongated strap extending from a first side thereof;threading said elongated strap through said loops; andsecuring said elongated strap to an opposing side of said bra assembly.

17. The method of claim 16, further comprising adjusting support using a front-tie adjustment mechanism located at a front portion of the bra assembly.

18. The method of claim 16 wherein said bra assembly includes a pair of cups, the cups positioned on said front-tie assembly so that lateral displacement can be affected.
