[0060] While many embodiments are described herein, at least some of the described embodiments include a decorative tent system. The decorative tent system is a tent-like structure with a frame (such as tent poles) and a tent covering (a canvas, fabric, cloth, plastic, or other flexible sheet material that goes around the frame to form a tent with an internal space. The decorative tent system is generally a conical shape (or teepee shape) structure. In some specific embodiments, the decorative tent system is a Christmas tree shape and is intended to have the appearance of a traditional Christmas tree and may be referred to as a Christmas tree tent apparatus. To accomplish this general shape and appearance, the tent structure may be any one of similar shapes such as conical, square pyramidal, triangular pyramidal, pentagonal pyramidal, hexagonal pyramidal, octagonal pyramidal, nonagonal pyramidal, decagonal pyramidal, etc., or variations of these shapes. The particular shape will be dictated by the frame or tent poles with the tent covering the frame.
[0061] In some embodiments, the Christmas tree tent apparatus includes a tent covering that is configured to appear like a traditional artificial Christmas tree which is open underneath (like a child's tent) so that children can crawl inside and have a private play space. In some embodiments, the upper part of the play space will feature a lighting system. In some embodiments, the upper part of the play space will feature a child-safe ‘infinity mirror’ which will make the interior of the tree appear larger than the exterior.
[0062] In some embodiments, the inside top (ceiling) of the tent will have two layers of reflective material facing each other with lights, (LEDs, or other) sandwiched between them. The lower layer will be reflective inside the sandwich but see through from the bottom. The result is that when the child looks up they see the lights reflecting back on themselves, extending upward to ‘infinity.’ The layers may be made of a variety of materials including soft materials, rigid materials, and flexible materials. The differentiator is that the materials will be formed to match the upward shape of the interior of the tent, rather than a rigid mirror. The technology of sandwiching lights between two reflective layers, with one of them being see-through is called an ‘infinity mirror.’ Iterations of the ‘infinity mirror’ includes variations on the types of lights and shape.
[0063] In some embodiments, the decorative tent system includes a lighting system internal to the tent. This design may use a number of different light types, and colors, and schemes or light emitting elements (which may include light projections—such as outer space projections of stars and planets). The light types may be LEDs, incandescent lights, halogen lights, fluorescent lights, or other variations.
[0064] In some embodiments, the decorative tent system may include various electronic components integrated into the system. Some of the electronic components may include controls to control the lighting or may include devices for playing media. Examples of electronic components include Bluetooth controls and / or a Bluetooth speaker in conjunction with the Christmas tree tent apparatus or the decorative tent system.
