[0005] Not Applicable(g) BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION(1) Field of the Invention
[0006] The disclosure relates to hair extension devices and more particularly pertains to a new hair extension device for attaching a hair extension to a person, animal, doll, or the like.(2) Description of Related Art Including Information Disclosed Under 37 CFR 1.97 and 1.98
[0007] The prior art relates to hair extension devices. Known hair extensions typically employ clips, strips, or loops with relatively broad rows of hairs and not a bundle occupying a relatively smaller area of a loop for attachment of a bundle of hair strands.(h) BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
[0008] An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a band which is elastic. A plurality of separate elongated strands of hair is folded over forming a bundle of the strands of hair. Each of the strands of hair extends through the band such that a fold point of each of the strands of hair is aligned with and abuts the loop. A fastener extends around the bundle of strands adjacent to the band such that the bundle defines a loop of the strands extending around a segment of the band and the bundle of strands is secured to the band.
[0009] There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
[0010] The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.(i) BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SEVERAL VIEWS OF THE DRAWING(S)
[0011] The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
[0012] FIG. 1 is a top front side perspective view of a hair extension device according to an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0017] FIG. 6 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure in use.
[0018] FIG. 7 is a perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure in use.(J) DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION
[0019] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 7 thereof, a new hair extension device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.
[0020] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 7, the hair extension device 10 generally comprises a band 12. The band 12 is elastic. The band 12 is a continuous annular hoop with a substantially constant cross-sectional area. The band 12 is constructed of a material such as rubber, silicone, elastomer, or the like. Thus, the band 12 is resiliently stretchable. Each of a plurality of separate strands 13 of hair 14 is attached to the band 12 as described below. The strands 13 of hair 14 may have different lengths, groups of various equivalent lengths, or a length of each strand 13 of hair 14 may be equivalent. Each strand 13 of hair 14 is elongated. The strands 13 of hair 14 are folded over forming a bundle 16 of the strands 13 of hair 14. Each of the strands 13 of hair 14 extends through the band 12 such that a fold point 18 of each of the strands 13 of hair 14 is aligned with and abuts the band 12. The fold point 18 of each of the strands 13 of hair 14 is at a midpoint 20 of each of the strands 13 of hair 14. A fastener 22 extends around the bundle 16 of strands 13 of the hair 14 adjacent to the band 12 such that the bundle 16 defines a loop 24 of the strands 13 of hair 14 extending around a segment 26 of the band 12 and the bundle 16 of strands 13 is secured to the band 12. The fastener 22 is a continuous ring. The fastener 22 is also constructed of a material such as rubber, silicone, elastomer, or the like such that the fastener 22 is resiliently stretchable.
[0021] A thickness of the bundle 16 of strands 13 of hair 14 extending through the fastener 22 is greater than an unstretched diameter of the fastener 22 wherein the fastener 22 compresses against the bundle 16 and is frictionally engaged to the bundle 16 of strands 13 of hair 14 extending through the fastener 22. Further, a width of the bundle 16 of strands 13 of hair 14 abutting the band 12 at the fold point 18 is between one eighth and one twelfth of an unstretched circumference of the band 12. As an example, the circumference of the band 12 may be approximately 50 centimeters, while the width of the bundle 16 may be approximately 5 centimeters.
[0022] An ornament 30 may be coupled to the fastener 22 either integrally or through other conventional fastening. The ornament 30 may be a bead 32, a ribbon 34, or similar decoration. The strands 13 of hair 14 may be natural human hairs, synthetic hairs, animal hairs, or any combination of these and the like.
[0023] In use, the band 12 is used to attach the bundle 16 to existing hair to supplement the existing hair. The existing hair may be that on a human, animal, doll, stuffed animal, or the like to enhance appearance.
[0024] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
[0025] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
