Abstract
Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
[0001] The present invention relates to window treatment cleaning devices. More specifically, the present invention relates to a window treatment cleaning stand that provides a stable and adjustable structure for securing window treatments during the cleaning and drying process.
[0002] Window treatments, including blinds, shades, and shutters, are widely used in residential, commercial, and institutional buildings to control light, maintain privacy, and enhance aesthetics. Over time, these treatments accumulate dust, dirt, and other debris, requiring regular cleaning to maintain their appearance and functionality. Despite the necessity of cleaning window treatments, existing methods present numerous challenges, making the process inefficient, time-consuming, and often impractical for many users.
[0003] One of the most common cleaning methods involves manually wiping each slat or surface of the window treatment using a cloth, sponge, or specialized duster. While this approach is inexpensive and accessible, it is highly labor-intensive and often ineffective in thoroughly removing dirt, particularly in hard-to-reach areas. Users must either leave the window treatment hanging in place, which limits access to certain sections, or hold it steady with one hand while wiping with the other, leading to uneven cleaning and physical strain.
[0004] Another prevalent method involves removing the window treatment from its mounting brackets and washing it in a bathtub, shower, or outdoor area. This technique provides more comprehensive cleaning but introduces several significant drawbacks. First, the process of detaching and reattaching window treatments is cumbersome and may cause damage to the mounting hardware, especially in rental properties where tenants may lack the necessary tools or permission to modify window fixtures. Second, the drying process is inefficient, as water often remains trapped within the material, leading to prolonged drying times and potential mold growth. Additionally, handling large or heavy window treatments in confined spaces makes this method impractical for many users.
[0005] Professional cleaning services offer an alternative solution by utilizing ultrasonic baths, steam cleaning, or other specialized methods. However, such services are costly, making regular cleaning economically unfeasible for many households and businesses. Furthermore, hiring a cleaning service requires scheduling an appointment and temporarily removing the window treatments, leaving windows uncovered for extended periods. The involvement of external service providers also raises security concerns, as users must either grant access to their homes or transport their window treatments to an offsite facility.
[0006] Due to these challenges, there is a need for a convenient, efficient, and cost-effective solution that allows users to clean window treatments without removing them from their mounting brackets, without excessive drying times, and without relying on expensive professional services. The present invention provides a window treatment cleaning stand configured to securely hold window treatments in an upright position during cleaning and drying. The stand comprises adjustable support arms to accommodate various sizes and types of window treatments, a fastener mechanism to ensure stability, and a foldable, detachable design for easy storage and portability.
[0007] In light of the devices disclosed in the known art, it is submitted that the present invention substantially diverges in design elements and methods from the known art and consequently it is clear that there is a need in the art for an improvement for a window treatment cleaning stand. In this regard the instant invention substantially fulfills these needs.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0028] Referring now to FIG. 4, there is shown a perspective view of an embodiment of the window treatment cleaning stand in use. To use the window treatment cleaning stand 1000, the user first transitions the stand from a disassembled configuration to an assembled configuration by attaching the support arms 1200 to form the frame 1100. The user adjusts the length of the support arms 1200 as necessary to accommodate the specific dimensions of the window treatment 2000. The support leg 1400 or a pair of support legs are then moved into the supporting position, which is substantially perpendicular to the frame 1100.
[0029] The user secures the window treatment 2000 to the stand 1000 using the window treatment fastener 1300, which may involve clipping, clamping, or gripping the edges of the treatment. Once secured, the user applies a cleaning solution to the surface of the window treatment using a spray applicator, damp cloth, or an attached cleaning tool. The window treatment can then be wiped clean using a microfiber cloth, sponge, or brush. If necessary, the user may rotate or reposition the window treatment within the stand to clean both sides thoroughly. After cleaning, the window treatment may remain in the stand for a brief drying period, allowing excess moisture to evaporate before reinstalling the treatment onto the window. Once the cleaning process is complete, the user can return the stand 1000 to a disassembled configuration by detaching the support arms and folding the support leg into the stored position. The stand can then be compactly stored for future use.
