Description

[0001] The present invention relates to a dishwasher, in particular a household dishwasher, and a receptacle for items to be washed for such a dishwasher.

[0002] Dishwashers which can be obtained with additional washing zones, for example an intensive washing zone, are known.

[0003] For example U.S. Pat. No. 9,596,976 B2 describes a dishwasher having a tub which defines a washing chamber; an insertion apparatus which is arranged in the washing chamber of the tub; a first spray apparatus which is arranged adjacent to the insertion apparatus such that the first spray apparatus is positioned to direct a first flow of washing liquor toward the insertion apparatus; a second spray apparatus which is arranged adjacent to the insertion apparatus such that the second spray apparatus is positioned to direct a second flow of washing liquor toward the insertion apparatus; a supply line; and a manually actuated valve which is coupled to the supply line such that the manually actuated valve selectively permits washing liquor to flow from the supply line to the second spray apparatus, wherein the manually actuated valve is positioned on the insertion apparatus.

[0004] For example US 2009 / 0 159 103 A1 describes an automatic dishwasher having a housing which defines a washing chamber; at least one spray nozzle which is arranged inside the washing chamber in order to spray liquid inside the chamber; a valve which is selectively actuatable in order to couple fluidically the at least one spray nozzle to a liquid supply; and a rotating spray arm which is positioned inside the washing chamber in order to spray a liquid inside the chamber and which is coupled to the valve in terms of operation such that a rotation of the spray arm selectively actuates the valve in order to couple the at least one spray nozzle to the liquid supply.

[0005] EP 1 708 608 B1 describes a basket for a dishwasher with a supply pipe for a spray arm which is rotatably mounted below the basket, wherein a branch pipe for an intensive washing zone provided in the region of the basket is arranged in the region of the supply pipe, said intensive washing zone consisting of rod-shaped line elements which are provided with outlet nozzles, and wherein the line elements are fastened to the bars of the basket, wherein the line elements are connected to the branch pipe via a T-piece, wherein a line element cooperates with an actuating member such that the intensive washing zone can be switched on or off as required.

[0006] DE 10 2018 206 447 A1 discloses a receptacle for items to be washed, in particular a basket, for a household dishwasher, with a lattice-like base, an intensive washing zone provided on the receptacle for items to be washed and a manually actuatable on-off valve which is designed to move the intensive washing zone selectively from a deactivated state into an activated state and vice versa, wherein the on-off valve can be actuated through the base.

[0007] DE 199 60 311 A1 describes an apparatus for dispensing detergent, in particular for dishwashers, with at least one dispensing apparatus for liquid dispensing agent and at least one dispensing apparatus for powdered dispensing agent, which in each case have a storage chamber, wherein a valve body, which has a permanent magnet, serving for closing and opening an outlet opening of the dispensing apparatus for liquid dispensing agent is arranged in the dispensing apparatus for liquid dispensing agent, wherein the valve body is moved by magnetic attraction and repulsion forces independently of the control of the dispensing apparatus for powdered detergent by means of a magnetic action body which is arranged in a closed space relative to the dispensing apparatus and which has a further permanent magnet.

[0008] Modern dishwashers have a desired long service life. The life circumstances of a user can change, however, or the identity of a user can change, for example a tenant of an apartment can change.

[0009] Against this background, an object of the present invention is to provide a dishwasher which can be adapted to the needs of a user and such a receptacle for items to be washed.

[0010] Accordingly a dishwasher is proposed, in particular a household dishwasher and / or an industrial dishwasher. The proposed dishwasher has a dishwasher cavity, at least one circulating pump, at least one circulating line, at least one branching and at least one mouth. The dishwasher cavity is designed to receive items to be washed. The circulating pump is provided for supplying washing liquor to a spray apparatus. The branching is arranged in the circulating line. The mouth is part of the circulating line. The mouth leads into the dishwasher cavity. The mouth is connected downstream of the branching. The mouth is provided to connect at least one spray apparatus. The mouth is closed by means of a removable closure.

[0011] Since the closure is removable, an extension, such as for example a spray apparatus and / or an intensive washing apparatus, can be connected to the mouth. Thus the dishwasher can be extended by a connection being able to be made to the mouth.

[0012] Preferably, the closure sealingly closes the mouth relative to washing liquor. Thus the closure prevents at least an excessive escape of washing liquor through the mouth. Thus the dishwasher can be operated efficiently.

[0013] If the circulating line and the closure have the same expansion behavior, a leak due to different expansion behaviors can be avoided, for example, in the operating range of the dishwasher. For example, the same expansion behavior can be present in the range between 0° C. and 90° C., preferably between 15° C. and 70° C. The “same” can mean a deviation of at most 8%, preferably at most 5% and even further preferably at most 3% relative to the expansion behavior. The expansion behavior can preferably be assessed by a material constant.

[0014] Preferably, the closure encompasses the mouth. Dishwashers are frequently subjected to periodic vibrations during operation. The encompassing acts counter to a gradual release of the closure due to such vibrations.

[0015] At least one projection protruding from the circulating line can be provided. The projection can protrude from an inner face of the circulating line inwardly into the circulating line, for example in order to act as a throttle and / or a filter. Preferably, the projection protrudes radially outwardly in order to permit a low-resistance flow.

[0016] As a development, it can be provided that the closure forms a positive connection with the projection. This brings about a seat of the closure which is secure during operation.

[0017] For example, the closure can form a positive connection with the projection along the circulating line, in order to prevent an inadvertent release of the closure.

[0018] Preferably, the closure and the projection form a positive connection in the peripheral direction in order to prevent the closure from twisting. Depending on the specific embodiment, twisting can facilitate an inadvertent release and / or make a tab or a lever for releasing the closure inaccessible or difficult to reach, for example.

[0019] Optionally, mixed forms of a positive connection can be provided along the circulating line and in the peripheral direction, for example, in order to combine a function for securing against twisting with a latching against inadvertent release.

[0020] According to one embodiment, the closure can have a first latching contour and the circulating line can have a second latching contour. The first latching contour and the second latching contour are preferably arranged in each case in order to form a resistance against a release of the closure, by cooperating positively in a closed position.

[0021] In the closed position, the closure closes the mouth. The term “in the closed position” can preferably mean “when the closure is in a, or the, position closing the mouth”.

[0022] For example, the first latching contour can be a hook and the second latching contour can be a tab in or on the circulating line. Thus the closure can be hooked in or on the circulating line.

[0023] As a development, it can be provided that the first and second latching contours are complementary to one another. This improves a latching effect. For example, the latching contours can have surfaces bearing against one another.

[0024] If the second latching contour is a hook protruding from the circulating line and the first latching contour is a tab on the closure, the closure can be easily dismantled.

[0025] For reasons of operational safety, it is preferred that the first latching contour positively engages behind the second latching contour. Particularly preferably, the rear engagement permits a release of the closure only by at least elastic, and in particular elastic-plastic, deformation of at least one of the two latching contours.

[0026] Preferably, the closure has a lever which is designed to release a latching engagement. The latching force can be increased by means of the lever without increasing the release force. The latching force is a measurement of the security against inadvertent release of the closure. The release force is a measurement of the effort for deliberately releasing the closure.

[0027] The latching engagement is, for example, an established latching operative connection of the two latching contours.

[0028] The lever is preferably rigidly attached to one of the two latching contours and particularly preferably attached to the first latching contour on the closure. “Rigidly” can mean in this context that an attachment and structure of the lever is stiffer than an attachment of the latching contour to the closure or the circulating line and / or stiffer than a structure of the latching contour.

[0029] According to a preferred embodiment, the lever is dimensioned for the release of the latching engagement without the use of tools. The lever is, for example, at least so large and / or it forms relative to the circulating line and / or the closure and / or a different part of the dishwasher such a large gap that a user can actuate the lever with at least one finger. Moreover, a resistance force of the lever against release can preferably be dimensioned in terms of value by a choice of material and / or a shape in order to be actuatable by the at least one finger for the release thereof.

[0030] According to a preferred embodiment, the lever is dimensioned for the release of the latching engagement with the use of tools. The lever is dimensioned, designed and / or arranged, for example, in order to be deflected by a finger force and / or hand force with the aid of a simple tool, such as a screwdriver, for releasing the latching engagement.

[0031] According to a preferred embodiment, the lever is dimensioned for the release both without the use of tools and with the use of tools. This leaves the user with a choice according to their preference. This lever can be dimensioned, for example, to be sufficiently large for a finger and can be designed to be sufficiently solid and stiff for a screwdriver.

[0032] According to one embodiment, the closure is designed as a cover which covers the mouth. This design can be produced inexpensively.

[0033] According to one embodiment, the closure has a plug portion. The plug portion is dimensioned and / or arranged on the closure in order to engage in the circulating line in the closed position of the closure. As a result, a dead volume in the dishwasher can be reduced in order to fulfill hygiene requirements.

[0034] If the plug portion and the circulating line form an interference fit and / or a transition fit, a sealing action is additionally achieved.

[0035] If the plug portion and the circulating line form a clearance fit, for example, a jamming of the closure in the circulating line can be avoided.

[0036] Preferably, the plug portion is dimensioned in order to engage in the circulating line as far as the branching. As a result, a dead volume in the dishwasher can be avoided in order to fulfill strict hygiene requirements.

[0037] A portion of the circulating line from the branching to the mouth can be denoted as an extension branch. A portion of the circulating line which connects the circulating pump to the branching in the intended manner can be denoted as the supply branch. A portion of the circulating line which does not lead from the branching to the mouth, or which is connected in parallel to the extension branch, can be denoted as a parallel branch. The term “branch” can thus mean a portion of the circulating line.

[0038] Preferably, a footprint of the plug portion in the closed position transitions into an inner wall of the supply branch and an inner wall of the parallel branch. Preferably, the transitions are connected by a curvature of the bottom contour. In this manner, an internal shape of the branching which is advantageous in terms of flow is achieved.

[0039] Preferably, the branching is arranged in the dishwasher cavity in order to arrange the mouth in the vicinity of the branching.

[0040] According to one embodiment, the mouth or preferably the branching and the mouth is or are arranged on a bottom of the dishwasher cavity. Preferably, they are arranged above a bottom of the dishwasher cavity and / or below a cover such as a filter, so as to be easily accessible.

[0041] According to one embodiment, the mouth or preferably the branching and the mouth is or are arranged on a receptacle for items to be washed, preferably a basket. Due to the arrangement on a receptacle for items to be washed, the mouth and the closure are generally easily accessible. This applies, in particular, to a preferred receptacle for items to be washed which can be at least partially removed from the dishwasher cavity.

[0042] A dishwasher cavity is also proposed, in particular a basket, for a dishwasher, in particular a household dishwasher, having a supply coupling and a circulating line connected downstream of the supply coupling, wherein the supply coupling is provided for supplying washing liquor into the circulating line, and a branching which is arranged along the circulating line and a mouth which is connected downstream of the branching, wherein the mouth is provided for connecting at least one spray apparatus and is closed by a removable closure.

[0043] The embodiments and features described for the proposed dishwasher correspondingly apply to the proposed dishwasher cavity.

[0044] Further possible implementations of the invention also comprise not explicitly mentioned combinations of features or embodiments described above or below relative to the exemplary embodiments. The person skilled in the art will also add individual aspects as improvements or additions to the respective basic form of the invention.

[0045] Further advantageous embodiments and aspects of the invention form the subject matter of the dependent claims and the exemplary embodiments of the invention described below. The invention is explained in more detail hereinafter by way of preferred embodiments with reference to the accompanying figures.

[0048] FIG. 3 shows schematically in a perspective plan view the part of the circulating line shown in FIG. 2 with the mouth and, uncoupled therefrom, the closure according to the exemplary embodiment of FIG. 2;

[0049] FIG. 4 shows schematically a perspective longitudinal section through a circulating line and a closure of a further exemplary embodiment; and

[0050] FIG. 5 shows schematically a perspective longitudinal section corresponding to FIG. 4 through a circulating line with a closure of a further exemplary embodiment.

[0051] Elements which are the same or functionally the same are provided with the same reference signs in the figures unless specified otherwise.

[0052] FIG. 1 shows a schematic perspective view of an exemplary embodiment of a system with a household dishwasher 1. The household dishwasher 1 comprises a dishwasher cavity 2 which is able to be closed by a door 3, in particular in a water-tight manner. To this end, a sealing device (not shown) can be provided between the door 3 and the dishwasher cavity 2. The dishwasher cavity 2 is preferably cuboidal. The dishwasher cavity 2 can be arranged in a housing of the household dishwasher 1. The dishwasher cavity 2 and the door 3 can form a washing chamber 4 for washing items to be washed.

[0053] The door 3 is shown in FIG. 1 in its open position. The door 3 can be closed or opened by pivoting about a pivot axis 5 provided at a lower end of the door 3. A loading opening 6 of the dishwasher cavity 2 can be closed or opened by means of the door 3. The dishwasher cavity 2 has a bottom 7, a ceiling 8 arranged opposite the bottom 7, a rear wall 9 arranged opposite the closed door 3 and two side walls 10, 11 arranged opposite one another. The bottom 7, the ceiling 8, the rear wall 9 and the side walls 10, 11 can be produced, for example, from a stainless steel sheet. Alternatively, for example, the bottom 7 can be produced from a plastics material.

[0054] The household dishwasher 1 also has at least one receptacle for items to be washed 12, 13, 14. Preferably, a plurality, for example three, receptacles for items to be washed 12, 13, 14 can be provided, wherein the receptacle for items to be washed 12 can be a lower receptacle for items to be washed or a lower basket, the receptacle for items to be washed 13 can be an upper receptacle for items to be washed or an upper basket and the receptacle for items to be washed 14 can be a cutlery drawer. As FIG. 1 also shows, the receptacles for items to be washed 12, 13, 14 are arranged one above the other in the dishwasher cavity 2. Each receptacle for items to be washed 12, 13, 14 is selectively movable into or out of the dishwasher cavity 2. In particular, each receptacle for items to be washed 12, 13, 14 can be inserted into the dishwasher cavity 2 in an insertion direction E and pulled out of the dishwasher cavity 2 counter to the insertion direction E in a pull-out direction A.

[0055] FIGS. 2 and 3 show schematically an exemplary embodiment of the invention. The exemplary embodiment contains optional developments.

[0056] A circulating line, which is denoted as a whole by 15, and a closure 16 are shown in FIGS. 2 and 3.

[0057] The circulating line 15 of the exemplary embodiment has a supply coupling 17, a supply branch 18, an extension branch 19, a parallel branch 20, a branching 21 and two fastening means 22.

[0058] The circulating line 15 is by way of example fixable or fixed to the upper basket 13 by means of the fastening means 22, and is extendable and removable therewith. The supply coupling 17 of the exemplary embodiment is provided for the height-adjustable coupling of the circulating line 15 to a line on the rear wall 9.

[0059] In this exemplary embodiment, the circulating line 15 is designed as a molded part which integrates the supply coupling 17, the three branches 18, 19, 20, the branching 21 and the fastening means 22 in one piece.

[0060] The supply branch 18 is designed, for example, as an extended cylindrical line. The supply branch 18 leads from the supply coupling 17 to the branching 21.

[0061] The extension branch 19 is designed by way of example as a cylindrical line which is tapered relative to the supply branch 18 with a mouth 23.

[0062] The parallel branch 20 is designed by way of example as a rotational connection for bearing a spray apparatus—not shown—which is designed as a rotatable multi-part spray arm.

[0063] The mouth 23 is closed by the closure 16. In FIG. 2 the closure 16 is shown in a closed position. In FIG. 3 the closure 16 is shown in an uncoupled position which can occur, for example, during assembly or dismantling of the closure 16 and / or cleaning of the extension branch 19.

[0064] In the closed position, the closure 16 sealingly encompasses and closes the mouth 23 so that a leakage of washing liquor through the mouth 23 is entirely or at least approximately prevented. A leakage which is approximately prevented can be regarded as sufficiently tight, since a leakage through the mouth 23 into the dishwasher cavity 2 is subsequently supplied back to a circulating pump—not shown.

[0065] The circulating pump is arranged, for example, on and / or below the bottom 7 and washing liquor from the dishwasher cavity 2 is supplied thereto by means of gravity via a pump sump—not shown. During operation, the circulating pump pumps the washing liquor into the circulating line 15 or a plurality of circulating lines. The washing liquor is supplied to the spray apparatus via the circulating line 15 in order to clean the items to be washed which are received in the receptacle for items to be washed 13, 14, 15. If an extension is connected to the mouth 23, the washing liquor is also supplied to the extension.

[0066] If the closure 16 is in the closed position, the washing liquor is supplied from the supply branch 18 via the branching 21 to the parallel branch 20. If the closure 16 is not in the closed position, because it has been removed, as shown in FIG. 3, the washing liquor is supplied from the supply branch 18 via the branching 21 to the parallel branch 20 and the extension branch 19.

[0067] As shown in FIGS. 2 and 3, two fins 24 are configured on the circulating line 15. The fins 24 are examples of a projection which protrudes from the circulating line 15. The fins 24 protrude radially outwardly, for example.

[0068] If the closure 16 is in the closed position, the closure 16 preferably overlaps with the fins 24 in the longitudinal direction of the circulating line. Longitudinal grooves 25 are provided in the closure 16. The longitudinal grooves 25 break through a sleeve 27 of the closure 16, in each case from an edge 26 of the closure 16. In this manner, the closure 16 can be repeatedly assembled on the circulating line 15 and dismantled from the circulating line 15.

[0069] The sleeve 27 preferably fully encompasses the mouth 22 in the peripheral direction. This improves a sealing action.

[0070] In the closed position, in each case a longitudinal groove 25 forms a positive connection with one respective fin 24 in the peripheral direction. Thus the closure 16 is secured against twisting.

[0071] The fins 24 and the longitudinal grooves 25 are distributed irregularly in the peripheral direction. Thus the closure 16 can be assembled in only one angular position on the circulating line 15. Thus it is ensured that the closure 16 is always in an angular position in which it can be easily dismantled by a user, for example, since in this manner a tab 28 described below is not concealed.

[0072] A hook 29 is formed on the circulating line 15. In the closed position, the tab 28 formed on the closure 16 forms a latching connection with the hook 29. The tab 28 positively engages behind the hook 29. The closure 16 is thus secured against inadvertent loss.

[0073] The tab 28 is an example of a first latching contour. The hook 29 is an example of a second latching contour.

[0074] The tab 28 is designed without a gripping portion so that the tab 28 can be released from the hook 29 by means of a tool. This counteracts an inadvertent release of the tab 28.

[0075] The mouth 22 is closed directly by a base 32 of the closure 16.

[0076] The exemplary embodiment of FIG. 4 shows a planar bottom 32. Reference is also made to the above description.

[0077] The exemplary embodiment of FIG. 5 accordingly shows a plurality of developments. Shown first is a gripping portion 30 which, forming a gap 31, is designed to lift off the tab 28 from the hook 29. Secondly a bottom 32 with a plug portion 33 of the closure 16 is presented. The plug portion 33 extends into the extension branch 19. Reference is also made to the above description.

[0078] The closure 16 has a gripping portion 30. The gripping portion 30 protrudes from the tab 28. If the gripping portion 30 is in a non-actuated state and the closure 16 is in the closed position, the gripping portion 30 protrudes at an angle of, for example, ca. 35° from a surface of the circulating line 15. Due to the angle, a gap 31 is present between the gripping portion 30 and the circulating line 15.

[0079] According to the exemplary embodiment, the gap 31 is sufficiently large for one to two fingers of an adult. For example, the gap 31 is at least 10 mm in size. Thus the closure 16 can be opened and released without the use of tools. To this end, for example, the gripping portion 30 is bent away from the circulating line 15.

[0080] The gripping portion 30 is connected rigidly to the tab 28 so that the tab 28 is lifted over the hook 29. As a result, the tab 28 no longer engages behind the hook 29. The gripping portion 30 thus acts as a lever for releasing a latching engagement.

[0081] According to a preferred variant, the gap 31 is dimensioned in order to be too small for a finger of an adult. For example, the gap 30 is 3 to 5 mm in size. Thus the closure 16 can be opened and released with the use of tools. For example, the gap 31 is dimensioned for a lever tool such as a screwdriver. This saves installation space and counteracts inadvertent release.

[0082] The mouth 22 is directly closed by a bottom 32 of the closure 16. The gripping portion 30 extends from the tab 28 in a direction which proportionally faces away from the bottom 32. Thus a force for lifting the gripping portion 30 also acts proportionally for releasing the closure 16 from the mouth 23.

[0083] The plug portion 33 is a specific shape of the bottom 32. In another embodiment, the plug portion 32 can be formed on the bottom 31.

[0084] The plug portion 33 forms a clearance fit with an inner face of the extension branch 19. According to a preferred variant, an interference fit can be provided.

[0085] The plug portion 33 extends as far as the branching 21 into the circulating line 15. The plug portion 33 fills up the extension branch 19, for example.

[0086] As can be seen in the sectional view of FIG. 5, the plug portion 33 on its end facing the branching has a footprint 34 which is shaped to be advantageous in terms of flow.

[0087] Preferably, the footprint 34 of the plug portion 33 in the closed position transitions into an inner wall of the supply branch 18 and an inner wall of the parallel branch 20. Preferably, the two transitions are connected by a curvature and / or a straight line.

[0088] In this manner, a deposit of food residues in the extension branch 19 is unlikely, so that strict hygiene requirements can be fulfilled.

[0089] While the present invention has been described by way of exemplary embodiments, it can be modified in many different ways.REFERENCE SIGNS USED1 Household dishwasher
