TECHNICAL FIELD

[0001] The present invention relates to a ladder scaffolding system and apparatus; and more specifically relates to a ladder scaffolding system and apparatus that can be loaded onto a single standard pickup truck and erected by one person.BACKGROUND

[0002] Known scaffolding systems are generally time consuming to set up and break down. In addition, known scaffolding systems have many parts that take up much space, and often require a very large transport such as a shipping container or several vehicles to move from site to site. In addition, known scaffolding systems require several people to set up. In addition, known scaffolding systems may be difficult to level, especially on uneven surfaces, and may be difficult to secure to buildings and / or roofs of buildings.

[0003] Thus there is a need for a ladder scaffolding system and apparatus that overcomes the above-listed and other disadvantages.SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0004] The invention relates to a ladder scaffolding system comprising: a first ladder; a scaffolding platform configured to attach to the first ladder; a second ladder configured to attach to the scaffolding platform on a side opposite the first ladder; a first base platform configured to rotatably attach to the bottom of the first ladder; a second based platform configured to attach to the bottom of the second ladder; a plurality of screw levels attached to the first base platform and the second based platform, the screw levels configured to level the ladder scaffolding apparatus; a plurality of staking members attached to the first base platform and the second based platform, the staking members configured to be staked into the surface where the ladder scaffolding system is being set up and to hold the ladder scaffolding system in place.BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

[0024] The ladder scaffolding system and apparatus can be loaded on a standard pickup truck and erected by on person. The ladder scaffolding system and apparatus may also fasten to the ground and roof or facia boards of a building to make it very secure and eliminate or reduce the possibility of the ladder scaffolding system and apparatus falling away from the building. The ladder scaffolding system and apparatus may be configured to hold approximately 1000 pounds of weight, which is generally enough for 2 workers, tools, and building materials.

[0025] FIG. 1 is a perspective view of one embodiment of the ladder scaffolding system 10. A first ladder 14 is shown attached to a scaffolding platform 18. The scaffolding platform is attached to a second ladder 22. The scaffolding platform 18 is attached to the ladders 14, 22 via a first platform bracket 26 and a second platform bracket 30. The platform brackets 26, 30 may be located up or down the ladders 14, 22 to locate and lock the scaffolding platform 18 at the desired height. A first base platform 34 is attached to the bottom of the first ladder 14. A second base platform 38 is attached to the bottom of the second ladder 22. A work tray 42 is shown adjustably attached to the first ladder 14 via the first platform bracket 26. The work tray 42 may be adjusted by a user to be at a desired height on the ladder 14. A second work tray may be attached to the second platform bracket 30. In this embodiment and view, no work tray is attached to the second platform bracket 30 to show more detail of the second platform bracket 30. Each ladder 14, 22 may have grab handles 50 located at the top of the ladders 14, 22. The first and second base platforms 34, 38 may each have a plurality of screw levels 54 to level the respective base platforms 34, 38 and attached ladder 14, 22. The first and second base platforms 34, 38 may each have a plurality of staking members 58 to stake the respective base platforms 34, 38 to the ground or surface. The staking members 58, may be cork-screw style members that corkscrew into the ground or surface. Each ladder 18, 22 may have a upper bracket 62 located near the top of ladder. The upper bracket 62 is configured to removeably attach to a roof or facia of a building to further secure the ladder scaffolding system 10.

In this embodiment, the first platform bracket 26 may comprise a first ladder slider member 66, and a second ladder slider member 70. These slider members 66, 70 are configured to slidably attach to the outsides of the first ladder 14, until fixed at a desired height by the user. The first platform bracket 26 may also comprise a first rung housing 74 and a second rung housing 78. The rung housings 74, 78 are designed to slide over two adjacent rungs on the first ladder 14, and lock into place at the desired rung height of the ladder 14. The first platform bracket 26 may also comprise a first longitudinal support member 82, a second longitudinal support member 86, a first transverse support member 90 and a second transverse support member 94. Each of the support member 82, 86, 90, 94 may have a angled support member 98 attached to the respective slider member 66,70. The first longitudinal support member 82 and first transverse support member 90 are configured to support and attach to the work tray 42. The second longitudinal support member 86 and second transverse support member 94 are configured to support and attach to the scaffolding platform 18. Similarly, the second platform bracket 30 may comprise a first ladder slider member 66, and a second ladder slider member 70. These slider members 66, 70 are configured to slidable attach to the outsides of the first ladder 14, until fixed at a desired height by the user. The second platform bracket 30 may also comprise a first rung housing 74 and a second rung housing 78. The rung housings 74, 78 are designed to slide over two adjacent rungs on the first ladder 14, and lock into place at the desired rung height of the ladder 14. The second platform bracket 30 may also comprise a first longitudinal support member 82, a second longitudinal support member 86, a first transverse support member 90 and a second transverse support member 94. Each of the support member 82, 86, 90, 94 may have an angled support member 98 attached to the respective slider member 66,70. The first longitudinal support member 82 and first transverse support member 90 are configured to support and attach to the scaffolding platform 18. The second longitudinal support member 86 and second transverse support member 94 are configured to support and attach to a second work tray 42 (not shown in this figure). The work trays 42 may have an optional wall 102 to prevent tools, nails, screws and other items from falling off the work tray 42.

The upper bracket 62 may comprise a rung attachment housing 110 that is configured to attach to rung 106. An extending member 114 extends from the attachment housing 110 to a mounting plate 118. The extending member 114 may attach to the mounting plate 118 via a rotatable or pivoting attachment means 122.

The staking member 58 may comprise corkscrew style stakes 60.

The ladder scaffolding system is designed so that it can be broken down and loaded onto a single standard pickup truck. The ladder scaffolding system and apparatus is designed to hold a weight of approximately 1000 lbs., which generally may be equivalent to two workers, tools, and building materials.

Claims

1. A ladder scaffolding system comprising:a first ladder;a scaffolding platform configured to attach to the first ladder;a second ladder configured to attach to the scaffolding platform on a side opposite the first ladder;a first base platform configured to rotatably attach to the bottom of the first ladder;a second based platform configured to attach to the bottom of the second ladder;a plurality of screw levels attached to the first base platform and the second based platform, the screw levels configured to level the ladder scaffolding apparatus;a plurality of staking members attached to the first base platform and the second based platform, the staking members configured to be staked into the surface where the ladder scaffolding system is being set up and to hold the ladder scaffolding system in place.

2. The ladder scaffolding system of claim 1, further comprising:a first work tray configured to adjustably attach to the first ladder.

3. The ladder scaffolding system of claim 2, further comprising:a second work tray configured to adjustably attach to the second ladder.

The ladder scaffolding system of claim 1, further comprising:a first platform bracket configured to attach to the first ladder, the first platform bracket comprising:a first ladder slider member configured to slide over the outside of the first ladder;a second ladder slider member configured to slide over the outside of the first ladder on a side opposite of the first ladder slider member;a first rung housing attached to the first and second ladder slider members and configured to slide over and attach to a selected rung of the first ladder;a second rung housing attached to the first and second ladder slider members and configured to slide over and attach to a rung of the first ladder adjacent to the selected rung;a first longitudinal support member attached to the first ladder slider member;a second longitudinal support member attached to the second ladder slider member;a first transverse support member attached to the first ladder slider member;a second transverse support member attached to the second ladder slider member;a first angled support member attached to the first longitudinal support member and the first ladder slider member;a second angled support member attached to the second longitudinal support member and the second ladder slider member;a third angled support member attached to the first transverse support member and the first ladder slider member;a fourth angled support member attached to the second transverse support member and the second ladder slider member;wherein the first longitudinal support member and first transverse support member are configured to support and attach to the first work tray, the second longitudinal support member and second transverse support member are configured to support and attach to the scaffolding platform;a second platform bracket configured to attach to the second ladder, the second platform bracket comprising:a first ladder slider member configured to slide over the outside of the second ladder;a second ladder slider member configured to slide over the outside of the second ladder on a side opposite of the second ladder slider member;a first rung housing attached to the first and second ladder slider members and configured to slide over and attach to a selected rung of the second ladder;a second rung housing attached to the first and second ladder slider members and configured to slide over and attach to a rung of the second ladder adjacent to the selected rung;a first longitudinal support member attached to the first ladder slider member;a second longitudinal support member attached to the second ladder slider member;a first transverse support member attached to the first ladder slider member;a second transverse support member attached to the second ladder slider member;a first angled support member attached to the first longitudinal support member and the first ladder slider member;a second angled support member attached to the second longitudinal support member and the second ladder slider member;a third angled support member attached to the first transverse support member and the first ladder slider member;a fourth angled support member attached to the second transverse support member and the second ladder slider member;wherein the first longitudinal support member and first transverse support member are configured to support and attach to the scaffolding platform, the second longitudinal support member and second transverse support member are configured to support and attach to a second work tray; andwherein the first and second platform brackets are configured to be slid onto and attached to any two adjacent rungs on the first and second ladders respectively.

5. The ladder scaffolding system of claim 1, further comprising:at least one grab handle located at the top of the first ladder and at least one grab handle located at the top of the second ladder.

6. The ladder scaffolding system of claim 1, further comprising:corkscrew style stakes located on each of the staking members and extending from the bottom of each of each base platform.

7. The ladder scaffolding system of claim 2, further comprising:a wall located at the perimeter of the first work tray, and configured to prevent fasteners and other items from falling off the first work tray.

8. The ladder scaffolding system of claim 1, further comprising:a first upper bracket configured to attach at or near the top of the first ladder, the first upper bracket comprising:a rung attachment housing configured to attach to a rung of the first ladder;an extending member extending from the attachment housing;a mounting plate attached to the extending member via a rotatable or pivoting attachment means, the mounting plate configured to attach to a surface to stabilize the ladder scaffolding system.

9. The ladder scaffolding system of claim 8, further comprising:a second upper bracket configured to attach at or near the top of the second ladder, the second upper bracket comprising:a rung attachment housing configured to attach to a rung of the second ladder;an extending member extending from the attachment housing;a mounting plate attached to the extending member via a rotatable or pivoting attachment means, the mounting plate configured to attach to a surface to stabilize the ladder scaffolding system.

The ladder scaffolding system of claim 1, further comprising:a first ladder attachment means located on the top surface of the first base platform, the first ladder attachment means comprising a rod located above the top surface of the first base platform;wherein the first ladder is configured to rotatably attach to the rod.

The ladder scaffolding system of claim 10, further comprising:a second ladder attachment means located on the top surface of the second base platform, the second ladder attachment means comprising a rod located above the top surface of the second base platform;wherein the second ladder is configured to rotatably attach to the rod.
