The plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B are fixed to base 20. The plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B and base 20 may be fixed to each other such that they can be integrally moved (for example, delivered). The plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B are disposed side by side in a first direction DR1 orthogonal to an up-down direction. Outdoor heat exchanger 2 of each of outdoor units 10A and 10B is provided in a U-shape when viewed from the up-down direction, for example. Outdoor heat exchanger 2 of each of outdoor units 10A and 10B has heat exchange portions disposed to face each other in first direction DR1, for example. In this case, it is preferable that the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B are disposed side by side with a spacing therebetween in first direction DR1. [0037] It should be noted that outdoor heat exchanger 2 of each of outdoor units 10A and 10B may be provided in a linear shape or in an L-shape when viewed from the up-down direction.
[0038] Each of the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B further includes a casing 13. Casing 13 has a front wall portion and a rear wall portion extending in first direction DR1, and a pair of side wall portions extending in a second direction DR2 orthogonal to each of the up-down direction and first direction DR1. At least a part of the front wall portion of casing 13 can be opened / closed or detached / attached by a maintenance worker.
[0039] An accommodation space 14 capable of accommodating above-described compressor 1, outdoor heat exchanger 2, first pipe 11, second pipe 12, and the like is provided inside casing 13 of each of outdoor units 10A and 10B. In FIG. 3, illustration of a part of casing 13 is omitted.
[0040] Each of the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B may further include a drain pan (not shown) disposed below outdoor heat exchanger 2 and the like. The drain pan may be provided with at least one drain hole.
[0041] As shown in FIGS. 2-4, base 20 further includes a casing 23. An accommodation space 24 capable of accommodating above-described first branch pipe 21, second branch pipe 22, and the like is provided inside casing 23.
[0042] As shown in FIG. 4, accommodation space 24 of base 20 has, for example, a first region 24A disposed below outdoor unit 10A, a second region 24B disposed below outdoor unit 10B, and a third region 24C connecting first region 24A and second region 24B in first direction DR1. First region 24A underlies accommodation space 14 of outdoor unit 10A in the up-down direction. Second region 24B underlies accommodation space 14 of outdoor unit 10B in the up-down direction. Third region 24C underlies a space between casings 13 of outdoor units 10A and 10B in first direction DR1, in the up-down direction.
[0043] As shown in FIG. 4, first end 21A of first branch pipe 21 and third end 22A of second branch pipe 22 are disposed in first region 24A. First end 21B of first branch pipe 21 and third end 22B of second branch pipe 22 are disposed in second region 24B. Second end 21C of first branch pipe 21 and fourth end 22C of second branch pipe 22 are disposed in second region 24B. A part of each of first branch pipe 21 and second branch pipe 22 extends through third region 24C.
[0044] Base 20 is provided with a connection opening 25 through which first connection pipe 300 connected to second end 21C of first branch pipe 21 and second connection pipe 400 connected to fourth end 22C of second branch pipe 22 pass. Base 20 may be provided with a connection opening through which first connection pipe 300 connected to second end 21C of first branch pipe 21 passes, and a connection opening through which second connection pipe 400 connected to fourth end 22C of second branch pipe 22 passes, independently of each other.
[0045] FIGS. 5 and 6 are views showing an example of base 20 of outdoor machine 101. In FIGS. 5 and 6, illustration of the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B is omitted.
[0046] As shown in FIGS. 5 and 6, base 20 is further provided with an access opening 26 to allow access to accommodation space 24 from outside of the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B and base 20. In the present specification, a structure to allow access to accommodation space 24 means a structure to allow a hand of the maintenance worker or a tool operated by the maintenance worker to reach the inside of accommodation space 24 from the outside of the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B and base 20, without passing through accommodation space 14 of each of the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B. Preferably, access opening 26 extends along first direction DR1. Preferably, the opening width of access opening 26 in first direction DR1 is wider than the opening width of access opening 26 in the up-down direction. Access opening 26 is provided in at least the front wall portion of casing 23.
[0047] Preferably, access opening 26 allows access to each of the plurality of first ends 21A and 21B and second end 21C of first branch pipe 21 and the plurality of third ends 22A and 22B and fourth end 22C of second branch pipe 22.
[0048] Preferably, access opening 26 allows access to each of first region 24A, second region 24B, and third region 24C of accommodation space 24.
[0049] Base 20 includes at least one panel 27 capable of opening and closing access opening 26. At least one panel 27 is provided so as not to close connection opening 25.
[0050] Base 20 includes, for example, a plurality of panels 27 capable of opening and closing access opening 26. The plurality of panels 27 have a first panel 27A and a second panel 27B. First panel 27A is a member different from second panel 27B. First panel 27A and second panel 27B can open and close different opening regions of access opening 26, independently of each other. First panel 27A can open and close, for example, an opening region that is contiguous to first region 24A and third region 24C of accommodation space 24 in second direction DR2, of access opening 26. Second panel 27B can open and close, for example, an opening region that is contiguous to second region 24B of accommodation space 24 in second direction DR2, of access opening 26.
[0051] Preferably, base 20 further includes at least one fixing portion 28 capable of fixing at least one panel 27 to casing 23. Fixing portion 28 fixes panel 27 to casing 23 such that panel 27 can be opened / closed or detached / attached. Fixing portion 28 includes, for example, at least one of a screw and a hinge. Base 20 includes, for example, a plurality of fixing portions 28 capable of fixing first panel 27A to casing 23, and a plurality of fixing portions 28 capable of fixing second panel 27B to casing 23. It should be noted that, in FIGS. 5 and 6, illustration of some of the plurality of fixing portions 28 is omitted.
[0052] Preferably, access opening 26 is provided so as to be contiguous to connection opening 25. Preferably, in a state in which panel 27 opens access opening 26, access opening 26 and connection opening 25 are provided so as to form one opening.
[0053] From a different viewpoint, base 20 is provided with an opening 29. A part of opening 29 is provided as connection opening 25. The remaining part of opening 29 is provided as access opening 26. Panel 27 is provided so as to open and close only access opening 26 of opening 29.
[0054] As shown in FIG. 6, preferably, access opening 26 has a size that allows each of first branch pipe 21 and the second branch pipe to be taken in and out therethrough. Preferably, entire first branch pipe 21 can be taken in and out through access opening 26. Preferably, entire second branch pipe 22 can be taken in and out through access opening 26.Effects
[0055] In outdoor machine 101, base 20 is provided with accommodation space 24 capable of accommodating at least a part of a pipe connected to each of the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B, and access opening 26 to allow access to accommodation space 24 from the outside of the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B and base 20. Base 20 has panel 27 capable of opening and closing access opening 26. Accordingly, in outdoor machine 101, it is possible to perform maintenance work for the pipes and the like disposed inside base 20, in a state in which base 20 supports outdoor units 10A and 10B.
[0056] In outdoor machine 101, outdoor unit 10A or 10B may be provided as a minimum unit of the outdoor machine. Outdoor units 10A and 10B may have the same configuration. Thereby, the number of components that are common between the outdoor units can be increased. Further, in outdoor machine 101, it is possible to change the capacity of outdoor machine 101 in a stepwise manner, in accordance with the number of outdoor units 10A and 10B that are made common to each other. In outdoor machine 101, it is possible to easily realize a lineup of outdoor machines having different capabilities by appropriately combining the outdoor units that are made common and a plurality of types of base 20 capable of supporting different numbers of such outdoor units.
[0057] In outdoor machine 101, two outdoor units 10A and 10B may be disposed with a spacing therebetween in first direction DR1. In this case, the outdoor air can be sent from the space between casings 13 of two outdoor units 10A and 10B to outdoor heat exchanger 2 of each of two outdoor units 10A and 10B. Accordingly, heat exchange performance of outdoor heat exchanger 2 of each of outdoor units 10A and 10B can be improved, when compared with a case where two outdoor units 10A and 10B are disposed without a spacing therebetween in first direction DR1.
[0058] In outdoor machine 101, since a load can be distributed to the outdoor units, performance can be improved. Furthermore, in outdoor machine 101, since a plurality of compressors are used, the amount of displacement of the refrigerant can be increased and the amount of circulation of the refrigerant can be increased, when compared with a case where only one compressor is used.
[0059] In outdoor machine 101, when the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B and base 20 are coupled to be integrally movable, the number of man-hours for installation work can be reduced and workability of outdoor machine 101 can be improved, when compared with a case where the plurality of outdoor units and the base are coupled at a location where outdoor machine 101 is to be installed.Second Embodiment.
[0060] An outdoor machine according to a second embodiment has the same configuration and functions and effects as those of outdoor machine 101 according to the first embodiment described above, and can be modified similarly, unless otherwise specified. Therefore, the same components as those of the first embodiment described above will be designated by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will not be repeated.
[0061] FIG. 7 is a view for illustrating the positional relation in the up-down direction between first branch pipe 21 and second branch pipe 22 accommodated inside base 20 and drain holes 15 provided in a drain pan of each of a plurality of outdoor units, in the outdoor machine according to the second embodiment. In FIG. 7, outdoor heat exchanger 2 of each of outdoor units 10A and 10B is indicated by a broken line.
[0062] As shown in FIG. 7, each of the plurality of outdoor units is provided with a plurality of drain holes 15. The plurality of drain holes 15 are disposed mainly below outdoor heat exchanger 2. The plurality of outdoor units have the same configuration, for example. In each of the plurality of outdoor units, the plurality of drain holes 15 have the same configuration, for example.
[0063] Each of first branch pipe 21 and second branch pipe 22 is disposed so as not to underlie the plurality of drain holes 15 in the up-down direction.
[0064] For example, when first branch pipe 21 or second branch pipe 22 is disposed so as to underlie the plurality of drain holes 15 in the up-down direction, drained water from drain holes 15 is cooled by first branch pipe 21 or second branch pipe 22 to form an ice column, and this ice column may damage first branch pipe 21 or second branch pipe 22. On the other hand, in the outdoor machine according to the second embodiment, each of first branch pipe 21 and second branch pipe 22 is disposed so as not to underlie the plurality of drain holes 15 in the up-down direction, and thus it is possible to suppress occurrence of defects such as damage and rupture in first branch pipe 21 and second branch pipe 22 due to drained water from drain holes 15.
[0065] Preferably, the pipes and wires accommodated in accommodation space 24 of base 20 are disposed so as not to underlie the plurality of drain holes 15 in the up-down direction. This can suppress occurrence of defects such as damage and rupture in the pipes and wires due to drained water from drain holes 15.Modification
[0066] FIG. 8 is a view for illustrating a modification of the outdoor machine according to the second embodiment. As shown in FIG. 8, in the outdoor machine according to the second embodiment, at least one of first branch pipe 21 and second branch pipe 22 may be disposed so as to underlie only a part of the plurality of drain holes 15 in the up-down direction. It is only necessary that, among the plurality of drain holes 15, the number of drain holes 15 overlapping at least one of first branch pipe 21 and second branch pipe 22 in the up-down direction is smaller than the number of drain holes 15 not overlapping at least one of first branch pipe 21 and second branch pipe 22 in the up-down direction. In this case, it is only necessary that each of the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B has a closing member 17 to close drain hole 15 overlapping at least one of first branch pipe 21 and second branch pipe 22 in the up-down direction, among the plurality of drain holes 15. Closing member 17 prevents water from being drained from drain hole 15 to accommodation space 24 of base 20. This can also suppress occurrence of defects such as damage and rupture in the pipes and wires due to drained water from drain hole 15.Third Embodiment
[0067] An outdoor machine according to a third embodiment has the same configuration and functions and effects as those of outdoor machine 101 according to the first embodiment described above, and can be modified similarly, unless otherwise specified. Therefore, the same components as those of the first embodiment described above will be designated by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will not be repeated.
[0068] FIG. 9 is a partially enlarged side view of second branch pipe 22 accommodated inside base 20 in the outdoor machine according to the third embodiment.
[0069] As shown in FIG. 9, second branch pipe 22 further has a T-shaped portion 22E. T-shaped portion 22E is located between branch portion 22D and fourth end 22C.
[0070] T-shaped portion 22E has a first opening end 22E1, a second opening end 22E2, and a third opening end 22E3. First opening end 22E1 is connected to the plurality of third ends 22A and 22B via branch portion 22D. Second opening end 22E2 is connected to fourth end 22C. Third opening end 22E3 is closed. Second opening end 22E2 and third opening end 22E3 face opposite to each other.
[0071] As shown in FIG. 9, first opening end 22E1 may face upward. Second opening end 22E2 and third opening end 22E3 may face opposite to each other in a horizontal direction. It should be noted that first opening end 22E1 may face in the horizontal direction.
[0072] In the outdoor machine according to the third embodiment, mixing of a gas refrigerant and a liquid refrigerant in a gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant flowing through second branch pipe 22 is promoted at T-shaped portion 22E of second branch pipe 22. Accordingly, a deviation in the mixing ratio between the gas refrigerant and the liquid refrigerant is less likely to occur between the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerants distributed from second end 21C to the plurality of first ends 21A and 21B via branch portion 22D. In the outdoor machine according to the third embodiment, it is possible to suppress occurrence of a deviation in the distribution of the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant from base 20 to each of outdoor units 10A and 10B.
[0073] Preferably, second branch pipe 22 does not have an L-shaped portion bent in an L-shape between branch portion 22D and T-shaped portion 22E. If second branch pipe 22 has an L-shaped portion instead of T-shaped portion 22E, a centrifugal force acting on the liquid refrigerant having a high density, in the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant flowing through the L-shaped portion, is larger than a centrifugal force acting on the gas refrigerant having a low density. In this case, the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerant in which gas-liquid separation is promoted at the L-shaped portion is distributed to each of outdoor units 10A and 10B at branch portion 22D, and thus the deviation in the mixing ratio is likely to occur between the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerants flowing into outdoor units 10A and 10B. On the other hand, in outdoor machine 104 in which second branch pipe 22 does not have an L-shaped portion between branch portion 22D and T-shaped portion 22E, it is possible to more effectively suppress occurrence of the deviation of the mixing ratio between the gas-liquid two-phase refrigerants flowing into outdoor units 10A and 10B.
[0074] More preferably, second branch pipe 22 does not have an L-shaped portion between branch portion 22D and fourth end 22C. It should be noted that second branch pipe 22 may have an L-shaped portion between T-shaped portion 22E and fourth end 22C. Second branch pipe 22 may have an L-shaped portion between branch portion 22D and each of the plurality of third ends 22A and 22B.
[0075] First branch pipe 21 does not have a T-shaped portion, for example. It should be noted that first branch pipe 21 may have a T-shaped portion.Fourth Embodiment
[0076] An outdoor machine according to a fourth embodiment has the same configuration and functions and effects as those of outdoor machine 101 according to the first embodiment described above, and can be modified similarly, unless otherwise specified. Therefore, the same components as those of the first embodiment described above will be designated by the same reference numerals, and the description thereof will not be repeated.
[0077] FIGS. 10 and 11 are views showing an example of an outdoor machine 104 according to the fourth embodiment. FIG. 11 is a partially enlarged perspective view showing a state achieved when outdoor unit 10A is positioned with respect to base 20 by a fixing member 30 shown in a region XI in FIG. 10. As shown in FIGS. 10 and 11, outdoor machine 104 further includes a plurality of fixing members 30 capable of positioning each of the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B on base 20 and fixing each of the plurality of outdoor units 10A and 10B to base 20.
