[0038] With reference to the illustrative embodiments depicted in FIGS. 1A-1F, an exemplary first portion 100 of an exemplary jewelry system 300 (as shown in FIG. 4) may comprise a body 1 having a toroidal frame 2 and a plurality of prongs 3A-3D extending upwardly from the top surface of the body 1 and being configured to hold one or more decorative elements, such as, for example, gems, stones, diamonds, and other light-reflective / refractive materials made of similar materials (e.g., stones) or made of replicas of the same (e.g., plastics, polymers, polymer-based materials, composite-based materials, synthetic-based materials, other hybrids of materials, or a combination thereof). The first portion 100 may comprise a first side arm section 4 and a second side arm section 5 opposite with respect to the first side arm section 4, each of which may be comprised of an upper arm 4A / 5A and a lower arm 4B / 5B, whereby the upper arm 4A / 5A may be substantially in the same or a substantially similar plane as the upper surface of the torodial frame 2. In similar fashion, the lower arm 4B / 5B may be substantially in the same or a substantially similar plane as the lower surface 2B of the torodial frame 2. As previously described, exemplary prongs 3A-3D may extend upwardly from the junction of the arm sections 4 / 5 and / or the toroidal frame 2 so as to extend above the upper surface of body 1. Each arm section 4 / 5 bounds a channel 6A / 6B, respectively, which runs through the thickness of each upper arm section 4A / 5A and lower arm section 4B / 5B, respectively.
[0039] With particular reference to FIG. 1F, the first portion 100 may have a channel, opening, passage, and / or canal 7 (hereinafter “the canal 7”) extending fully or partially through the toroidal frame 2 of the body 1 while being circumscribed by a plurality of prongs, e.g., 3A-3D. The channels 6A and 6B may each have a longitudinal axis that lay in the same plane as the longitudinal axis of the canal 7 but may otherwise be parallel therefrom and spaced equidistantly from the canal 7 and one another. While the toroidal frame 2 may be shown as being cylindrical, those skilled in the art may form any number of the toroidal frames 2, which may have the canal 7 therein.
[0040] With reference to the illustrative embodiments depicted in FIGS. 2A-2D, an exemplary second portion 150 of the jewelry system 300 (as shown in FIG. 4) may comprise a body 11 having a toroidal frame 12 and a plurality of prongs 13A-13D extending upwardly from the top surface of the body 11 and being configured to hold one or more decorative elements, such as, for example, gems, stones, diamonds, and other light-reflective / refractive materials made of similar materials (e.g., stones) or made of replicas of the same (e.g., plastics, polymers, polymer-based materials, composite-based materials, synthetic-based materials, other hybrids of materials, or a combination thereof). The second portion 150 may comprise a first side arm section 14 and a second side arm section 15, of which only the second side arm section may be comprised of an upper arm 15A and a lower arm 15B, whereby the upper arm 15A may be substantially in the same plane or a substantially similar plane as the upper surface of the body 11. In similar fashion, the lower arm 15B may be substantially in the same plane or a substantially similar plane as the lower surface 12B of the toroidal frame 2. As previously described, exemplary prongs 13A-13D may extend upwardly from the junction of the arm sections 14 / 15A / 15B and the toroidal frame 2 so as to extend above the upper surface of body 11. Each arm section 14 / 15 bounds a channel 16A / 16B, respectively, which runs through the thickness of each arm section 14, the upper arm section 15A and the lower arm section 15B, respectively.
[0041] With continued reference to FIGS. 2A-2D, the arm section 14 may be separated from an upper and lower surface of the body 11 by a groove 18. In an exemplary embodiment, the groove 18 may be substantially the same as an upper arm section 4A of the first system portion 100, an upper arm section 15A of the second jewelry system portion 150, and / or combinations thereof. The groove 18 may be configured to enable meshing and / or overlapping arrangements between the channels 6A / 6B and 16A / 16B of the various system portions 100 / 150 in one or more combination. In another exemplary aspect, the groove 18 may enable the second jewelry system portion 150 to have a “male end” (e.g., arm 14) and a “female end” (e.g., pairs of upper / lower arms 15A / 15B). In this way, the groove 18 may allow for an exemplary attachment between the various system portions 100 / 150 to render one or more exemplary joints 200 to form the jewelry system 300 of jewelry engagements. In another further aspect, groove 18 may enable any upper arm 14A / 15A of any interconnected portion 100 / 150, respectively, to engage the upper surface of arm 14 and lower surface of arm 14 and create a flush surface with the upper surface of body 11 and lower surface 12B of frame 12.
[0042] With particular reference to FIGS. 2C-D, an exemplary second portion 150 may have a channel, opening, passage, and / or canal 17 (hereinafter “the canal 17”) extending fully or partially through the toroidal frame 12 of the body 11 while being circumscribed by a plurality of prongs, e.g., 13A-13D. The channels 16A and channels 16B may each have a longitudinal axis that lay in the same plane or a substantially similar plane as the longitudinal axis of canal 17 but may otherwise be parallel therefrom and spaced equidistantly from canal 17 and one another. While the toroidal frame 12 may be shown as being cylindrical, those skilled in the art may form any number of toroidal frames 12, which may have a canal 17 therein. Further illustrated in FIG. 2D may be pins 20 and 21 for channels 16A and 16B, respectively, of the second portion 150. As will be discussed in other embodiments, the pins 20 and 21 may be made of the same or different material from the first portion 100 and / or the second portion 150, and may be used to maintain the interconnection between the various arms 4A / 4B / 5A / 5B / 14 / 15A / 15B of the first portion 100 and / or the second 150 to provide limited movement, rotational movement, and / or revolute displacement about an axis of the pins 20 and 21.
[0043] Referring to FIG. 3, an exemplary joint 200 may be positioned, provided, disposed, and / or located between the first jewelry portion 100 and the second jewelry system 150. As may be illustrated, pins 20 and 21 may be incorporated into the channels 6B and 6A, respectively, of the first jewelry portion 100 and the second jewelry portion 150. For example, the pin 21 may be shown passing through and / or disposed between the arms 4A and 4B of the first portion 100 and / or the pin 20 may be shown passing through and / or disposed between the arms 5A, 14, and 5B of the interconnection between the first portion 100 and the second portion 150. In an embodiment, an abutment of the prongs 13A and 13C, for example, may limit the movability and / or rotation and / or may increase stability of the joint 200 to lay flat against a particular surface without spinning and / or twisting about an axis. In other words, the limited revolute joint 200 formed by pins 20 and 21 about the interconnections between the various arms 4A, 4B, 5A, 5B, 14, 15A, and / or 15B of the first portion 100 and / or the second 150 may enhance, increase, and / or improve user enjoyment of the system 300 while maintaining, retaining, and / or preserving presentation of any item(s) held within the prongs 3A-3D and / or 13A-13D of the first portion 100 and / or the second portion 150 such that the item(s) do not flip towards the wearer, i.e., away from the eye contact of those viewing the wearer of the jewelry system 300. For example, one or more diamonds located within the prongs 3A-3D and / or the prongs 13A-13D may remain facing away from a neck of the wearer of the system 300 and / or may be substantially prevented from flipping towards the neck of the wearer of the system 300 in response to activities in which the wearer may be engaged, such as, for example, active behavior, one or more sports activities, movements, other athletic or active movements and / or poses, or a combination thereof.
[0044] Referring to the illustrative embodiment of FIG. 4, the jewelry system 300 may be illustrated with a plurality of the joints 200 formed by a plurality of the first portions 100 and / or the second portions 150. Regardless of the sequence, the system 300 may be terminated with the overlapping connections previously described between one or more of the first portions 100 and the second portions 150 and / or two adjacent second portions 150. An exemplary sequence may be shown in the illustrative cross-section in FIG. 5, wherein the overlapping arrangement of the arms of the first portion 100 may interact with the arms of adjacent second portions 150 to form one or more of the joints 200 and / or a chain / necklace that may resist, reduce, or prevent an urge of the system 300 to revolve while adorning the wearer of the system 300.
[0045] In an embodiment, one or more of the first portion(s) 100, the second portion(s) 150, the joint portion(s) 200, and / or the system 300 may be made of any type of metal, plastic, polymer-based material, composite-based material, synthetic-based material, at least one moldable material, or a combination thereof. In an embodiment, one or more of the first portion(s) 100, the second portion(s) 150, the joint portion(s) 200, and / or the system 300 may be made of gold, sterling silver, other jewelry metals, or a combination thereof as known to those skilled in the art, and / or combinations of each of the foregoing.
[0046] Many further variations and modifications may suggest themselves to those skilled in art upon making reference to the above disclosure and foregoing interrelated and interchangeable illustrative embodiments, which are given by way of example only, and are not intended to limit the scope and spirit of the interrelated embodiments of the invention described herein.
