[0012] FIG. 6 is a front view of an accessory for an embodiment of the disclosure.DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0013] With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1-6 thereof, a new doll device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

[0014] As best illustrated in FIGS. 1-6, the animated doll device 10 generally comprises a body 12 having a torso 14, arms 16, legs 18, neck 20 and head 22. The body 12 defines an interior space 24 extending through the legs 18, torso 14, neck 20 and head 22. A processor 26 is positioned in the interior space 24. A transceiver 28 is positioned in the interior space 24 and is operatively coupled to the processor 26. This allows for constant updating of programming for the processor 26. This can allow for improvements in function and also enhanced interactions using artificial intelligence to access and respond to a user.

[0015] A frame 30 is positioned in the interior space 24. The frame 30 includes a pair of shin members 32 and a pair of thigh members 34. The shin members 32 are pivotally coupled to the thigh members 34. Gears 36 may be used to facilitate pivoting of the shin members 32 relative to the thigh members 34. A pair of thigh motors 40 are positioned in the interior space 24. Each of the thigh motors 40 is operationally coupled to a respective one of the thigh members 34 such that each thigh motor 40 pivots the respective one of the thigh members 34. Each thigh motor 40 is operationally coupled to the processor 26 wherein the processor 26 controls pivoting of each of the thigh members 34. Similarly, each of a pair of knee motors 42 is operationally coupled to a respective one of the shin members 32 such that each knee motor 42 pivots the respective one of the shin members 32 relative to the respective one of the thigh members 34. Each knee motor 42 is operationally coupled to the processor 26 such that the processor 26 controls pivoting of each of the shin members 32.

[0016] The head 22 has a mouth 44, eyes 46, and ears 48. A mouth motor 50 is positioned in the head 22. The mouth motor 50 moves lips 52 of the mouth 44 when activated. The mouth motor 50 is operationally coupled to the processor 26 and activation of the mouth motor 50 may be coordinated to the playing of speech initiated by the processor 26. The mouth motor 50 may incorporate a plurality of separate motors used to move the lips 52 in a realistic manner. A speaker 64 is positioned adjacent to the mouth 44 and operationally coupled to the processor 26 for playing audio.

[0017] A microphone 54 is positioned in the head 22. The microphone 54 is positioned adjacent to an associated one of the ears 48. The microphone 54 is operationally coupled to the processor 26 to provide audio input to control operation of the processor 26. There may be two microphones 54, one adjacent to each ear 48. A visual sensor 56 is positioned adjacent to an associated one of the eyes 46. The visual sensor 56 is operationally coupled to the processor 26 to provide additional input for controlling operation of the processor 26 such that the processor may initiate responses to visual cues or conditions detected by the visual sensor 56. There may also be two visual sensors 56, one adjacent to each eye 46.

[0018] A battery 58 is positioned in the interior space24. The battery 58 is electrically coupled to the processor 26 and either directly or through the processor 26 to each of the other electrically powered elements. A charge port 60 is positioned on the body 12. The charge port 60 is electrically coupled to the battery 58. The charge port 60 is positioned on a back 62 of the neck 20. This allows for a more natural appearance as the charging port 60 remains accessible but not directly visible when viewing the body 12 from the front.

[0019] The transceiver 28 is in communication with an extrinsic network 66. The extrinsic network 66 may be a locally positioned computer, electronic device such as a smartphone accessible through a wireless personal access network, or a remotely positioned server accessible through internet networking. Thus, the processor 26 is updated for controlling the thigh motors 40, the knee motors 42, the mouth motor 50. The extrinsic network 66 may incorporate data and data analysis from multiple sources related to informational sites, other similar doll devices, and whatever other sources may increase the variety and realistic interaction of the doll device 10 with a user.

[0020] The doll device 10 can be provided with a birth certificate 68 with related data printed or with spaces to add the related data. This may help to further personalize and enhance the realism of the doll device for a user.

[0021] In use, a user interacts with the doll device 10. Audio is received through the microphone 54 and video is received through the visual sensor 56 and provided to the processor 26. Through artificial intelligence and the transceiver 28, reactions or responses to the audio received through microphone 54 may be implemented by the processor 26.

[0022] With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

[0023] Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
