Description
The present invention consists of blown films with encapsulated active agents, such as volatile antimicrobial agents, suitable for use as food packaging materials. Methods for manufacturing such blown films are also provided herein. The methods include extruding a bubble from molten polymers, dispensing active agents into the bubble, and collapsing the bubble in such a way that it automatically adheres to form a film with the encapsulated active agents.
