Description

The present invention relates to a method for generating a composition for paints, varnishes, printing inks, milling resins, pigment concentrates, or other coating materials, wherein the composition for paints, varnishes, printing inks, milling resins, pigment concentrates, or other coating materials comprises solids and dispersants, wherein the composition is generated by means of a computerized system, wherein the computerized system has access to a database in which known compositions are stored, and wherein, for combinations of a solid and a dispersant of compositions The measurement points are stored in each case, where for each measurement point, a rheological property and a color property are stored. The method comprises: the input of a specification of a desired combination of a first component and a second component of a composition,WHERE THE COMPONENTS COMPRISE A SOLID AND A DISPERSANT, THROUGH A COMPUTERIZED SYSTEM USER INTERFACE; The implementation of a database search with the desired combination of the first and second components as the search criteria, wherein, if the database search yields a known composition that meets the search criteria, the known composition is generated, and wherein, otherwise, an additional database search is performed for a composition with the first and second components as the search criteria, in order to discover a candidate composition comprising one of the two components and also, instead of the other component, a SUBSTITUTE COMPONENT; AND THE IMPLEMENTATION OF ADDITIONAL STEPS TO GENERATE THE FORMULATION AND PRODUCE THE COMPOSITION.
