Description

The present invention relates to the use of cannabidiol (CBD) for disease-modifying therapy in Dravet syndrome. In particular, CBD is used to improve neonatal well-being, survival, and comorbidities in patients with Dravet syndrome. Preferably, the CBD is used in the form of a botanically obtained, purified CBD comprising 98% (w / w) or more of CBD and 2% (w / w) or less of other cannabinoids. The other cannabinoids present are THC at a concentration of 0.1% (w / w) or less. CBD-C1 at a concentration of 0.15% (w / w) or less; CBDV at a concentration of 0.8% (w / w) or less; and CBD-C4 at a concentration of 0.4% (w / w) or less. The botanically obtained purified CBD also preferably comprises a mixture of both trans-THC and cis-THC. Alternatively, synthetically produced CBD is used.
