Description
The present invention provides methods for the treatment of malaria comprising the administration of compounds of formula (I), or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof, to a subject in need, wherein the variables are as defined herein. The invention also provides uses of the compounds of formula (I), as defined herein, for inhibiting the activity of plasmapsin X, plasmapsin IX, or plasmapsin XYIX, for the treatment of Plasmodium infection, and for the treatment of malaria. TREATMENT METHODS ARE ALSO PROVIDED THAT INCLUDE THE ADMINISTRATION OF ONE OR MORE ANTI-MALALUIDEC COMPOUNDS.
