Techniques are provided for the implementation of a piping system that includes a pipe segment deployed over an inclined surface, wherein the pipe segment includes tubes defining an orifice and a fluid conduit implemented in a pipe ring, a pipe fitting attached to the pipe segment, and a pipe retaining stake.The pipe retaining stake includes a stake body, wherein the stake body includes a pipe engagement portion and one or more stake legs used to engage the soil near the pipe system, and a pipe engagement component implemented on an inner surface of the pipe engagement portion of the stake body, wherein the pipe engagement component engages the pipe system to facilitate compensation of a parallel force arising from deployment on the inclined surface at least in part by facilitating the transfer of the parallel force from the pipe system.
