TECHNIQUES FOR IMPLEMENTING AND / OR OPERATING A SYSTEM THAT INCLUDES A PIPE FITTING TO BE SECURED TO A PIPE SEGMENT, WHEREIN THE PIPE FITTING INCLUDES A GRIP RING HAVING A GRIP NOTCH AND A CONNECTION SLEEVE TO BE CONFORMLY DEFORMED AROUND THE PIPE SEGMENT TO FACILITATE THE ATTACHMENT OF THE PIPE FITTING TO THE PIPE SEGMENT. In addition, the system includes a stamping machine, which includes a gripping plate having a gripping tongue that engages coincidentally with the gripping notch in the gripping ring to facilitate attachment of the pipe fitting to the stamping machine, a die plate onto which a die is loaded, and a stamping actuator secured to the die plate.The stamping machine operates the stamping actuator to push the die plate onto the pipe fitting's connection sleeve to facilitate conformal deformation of the connection sleeve around the pipe segment by means of an extended stroke.
