Abstract
Calibration techniques that utilize reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) to address errors in wireless nodes may involve acquiring a set of wireless reference signal measurements including: first, second, third, and fourth measurements of the reference signals traveling between the mobile device, the first wireless node, and the second wireless node, where a portion of the reference signals is reflected by the RIS while traveling between the mobile device and the first or second wireless node. The difference value, including the difference between the third and fourth measurements, is also acquired. An estimated mobile device location can then be determined, based at least in part on the set of wireless reference signal measurements, the difference value, and the corresponding location of each of the first wireless node, the second wireless node, and the RIS.
