Abstract

The invention proposes liquid nano-formulations and liquid liposome nano-formulations containing curcumin and other components, and a process for preparing these formulations, which are described in detail in the description. The formulations and process under the invention overcome the limitations of curcumin, a broad-spectrum organic compound, including poor solubility in water, poor stability, and rapid metabolism. Furthermore, the formulations under the invention are effective for treating burns when applied, for example, at a dose of approximately 0.05 to 0.1 ml of solution / cm² of skin, twice daily, to experimentally induced burn models in mice. These formulations also demonstrate no systemic toxicity after (21 days of application) in the experimentally induced burn model.The solution proposed in this invention allows for effective burn treatment using naturally derived organic compounds, specifically curcumin-containing nano-preparations that are more effective in treating burns than the control (untreated) sample, and are equivalent to 1% silver sulfadiazine burn cream, but without the systemic toxicity and adverse side effects of 1% silver sulfadiazine, such as the need to monitor serum sulfadiazine levels and renal function, caution when using the drug in individuals with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency due to potential hemolytic anemia, adverse reactions due to sulfadiazine absorption such as reported silver contamination when using too much 1% silver sulfadiazine cream to treat large ulcers, and common side effects such as itching, pain, and burning sensation.
