Abstract

This invention relates to image encoding / decoding methods. The image decoding method includes the following steps: decoding the quantization matrix information from the bit stream, obtaining the quantization matrix of the current block based on the quantization matrix information, and dequantizing the current block using the quantization matrix of the current block. The process of quantizing the current block matrix involves the following steps: inferring a single identifier using at least one of the current block dimensions, prediction mode, or color component, and obtaining the quantized matrix of the current block based on the single identifier.
