Abstract

The invention relates to a method and apparatus for wireless communication. Aspects of the invention relate to the formation of a group of sub-link carriers in a wireless communication network. A first wireless communication device, such as a user equipment (UE), can communicate with a base station on a mobile link by using the first set of component carriers (CC) in a specific frequency band. The UE can identify one or more first carrier groups for the first set of first CCs with the base station. The UE can communicate with a second communication device, such as a second UE, on the sublink by using the second set of CCs in the same frequency band. The first UE can map at least one second CC to the corresponding first CC and apply one or more carrier groups to the second set of CCs to generate one or more second carrier groups based on the mapping.
