Abstract

The invention relates to a method for localization and mapping using artificial neural networks, an artificial neural network, and a method for operating an artificial neural network. The method for training an artificial neural network (ANN) includes receiving, from the base station, signal information about radio frequency signals between the base station and the user equipment (UE). Artificial neural networks are trained to determine the location of the UE and create an environmental map based on received signal information, even when no labeled data is available.
