Abstract

The invention relates to a method and apparatus for transmitting information. In the method, the distribution unit (DU) receives the first System Information Request (SI) for the target SI from the terminal device, and forwards the first SI request to the central unit (CU). Upon receiving the SI request, the CU transmits the first indicator of whether the requested target SI has been forwarded to the terminal device. The DU generates the first SI request response based on the most relevant indicator, and transmits the first SI request response to the Terminal device.
