Abstract

The method of spontaneous polymerization in the reaction surface polymerization process involves activating the starting region of the monomer solution to initiate the polymerization reaction. The reaction surface of the polymerization process is created and propagates through the monomer solution in a circular or longitudinal direction away from the starting region. The monomer solution is spontaneously heated toward the reaction surface of the polymerization process by transporting heat away from the polymerization reaction. Once the localized region of the monomer solution reaches a sufficient temperature to initiate another polymerization reaction, a new reaction surface for the polymerization process is created and propagates through the monomer solution in the peripheral or horizontal direction. The spontaneous heating of the monomer solution towards the reaction surface of the polymerization process and the initiation of other polymerization reactions occur cyclically, creating many new reaction surfaces of the polymerization process and spatial variations in reaction temperature throughout the monomer solution. After the polymerization process is complete, a spontaneously formed polymer is created.
