Abstract

This patent relates to fire detection systems (FDS) and methods for operating FDS equipment to detect potential fires and transmit information about detected fire events to a central fire detection system via a wireless communication network. Some approaches include receiving information from one or more sensors configured to detect signs of a potential fire. Determine whether information received from one or more sensors meets one or more threshold criteria indicating a fire event, generate a fire alarm notification including a fire alarm symbol in response to the determination that the information received from one or more sensors meets one or more threshold criteria indicating a fire event, and send the generated fire alarm notification to a remote server via the communication network.
