Wireless communication method using wireless communication devices

Abstract

The invention relates to a method, apparatus and system for assessing clear channel assessor (CCA). In one respect, the device performs the first free channel assessment (CCA) on the primary subchannel of a channel with a total bandwidth greater than or equal to 40 megahertz (MHz), multiple subchannels of a channel spanning the total channel bandwidth, multiple subchannels comprising a primary subchannel and one or more secondary subchannels, each of which the primary subchannel and one or more secondary subchannels have a bandwidth of 20 MHz, performs, on each of one or more secondary subchannels, the corresponding second CCA assessment, and transmits communication over the channel based on the status of each of the primary subchannels and one or more secondary subchannels based on performing a corresponding second CCA check or first CCA check. The invention also refers to wireless communication methods using wireless communication devices.
