Abstract

The invention relates to methods and devices for wireless communication. Certain aspects of the invention propose techniques for improving the positioning accuracy of user equipment (UE) by using non-line-of-sight (NLOS) positioning reference signals and map information. The bouncing method that can be performed by the UE includes the step of acquiring map information relating to at least one or more reflectors in the environment including at least the UE and other nodes, detecting at least one peak-position reference signal (PRS) transmission moving on one or more non-line-of-sight (NLOS) paths in the environment, and participate in the positioning procedure to estimate the UE's position based in part on at least one PRS transmission traveling over one or more NCOS links and map information.
