Abstract

The invention relates to a test apparatus mounted on a first vehicle, a roadside apparatus, and a method for performing the exchange of information on the execution of turns by such apparatus. User equipment (UE) on the vehicle, or equipment located along the roadside, can broadcast inter-vehicle messages for the vehicle's intended turning maneuver. These inter-vehicle messages may be requests for coordinated turning maneuvers requiring acceptance by another vehicle, or messages providing information for the planned turning maneuver. Inter-vehicle messages include a timed execution schedule outlining the time period during which the turning maneuver will begin. It may also include a time-based window that defines the time interval within which a steering turn will be completed. A spatial window defines the distance range for the starting and / or stopping position for which a steering turn can also be completed. The vehicle may execute the steering turn within the time-based execution window, for example, if the steering turn response is received before the time-based execution window expires, and otherwise will cancel the steering turn.
