Abstract

This patent refers to a laundry detergent in the form of a product containing: (a) an alkyl ethoxylate sulfate surfactant with 12 to 14 carbon atoms, in a content of 2% to 25% by weight; in which, the alkyl ethoxylate sulfate surfactant includes the part with an alkyl group of 14 carbon atoms in a content of at least 50% by weight of the alkyl ethoxylate sulfate surfactant; in which, the average degree of ethoxylation (EO) is from 2.5 to 3.5; In which, referring to the percentage by weight of the total fractions that have been ethoxylated in the alkyl ethoxylate sulfate surfactant mentioned above, the content of the fraction with 1 EO unit is from 10% to 25% by weight, the content of the fraction with 2 EO units is from 15% to 24% by weight, the content of the fraction with 3 EO units is from 20% to 35% by weight, and the content of the fraction with 4 EO units is from 12% to 25% by weight; and, in which, alkyl ethoxylate sulfate surfactants with 12 to 14 carbon atoms including an alkyl chain portion of 15 or more carbon atoms, with a maximum content of 10% by weight; and (b) cleaning enhancers selected from anti-re-coating polymers, stain-removing polymers, esters of alkoxylated polycarboxylic acids and mixtures thereof, with a content of 0.5% to 15% by weight; This invention also describes a method for increasing the viscosity of this detergent by incorporating the alkyl ethoxylate sulphate surfactant specified above, including one or more of the cleaning enhancers mentioned above.
